From todays eco -times - Wonder who they are :

MUMBAI: The delivery of the first costliest luxury saloon in the country of Daimler Chrysler's "Maybach", with a price tag of Rs 5.25 crore, is expected to be made to a corporate client in the next four months.

"We have bookings from three corporate clients for the "Maybach" in Mumbai and two for Delhi and the first luxury high-end saloon will be delivered in Mumbai in next four months", Vaibhav Sanghi, Director of Motor Sanghi Company, told reporters here today at the launch of the vehicle in the city.

Sanghi, who declined to reveal the names of the clients, said the "made to order" saloon, which was on display at the January autoshow in Delhi, takes seven months for delivery and Daimler Chrysler expects to sell between 9-11 cars annually in India.

"Daimler has recognised India as one of the markets and the price tag of Rs 5.25 crore for Mumbai is apart from octroi and other taxes", he added.

Sanghi said the world luxury car makers may invest Rs 20 crore at a Mercedes Benz plant in Pune as a service centre for these cars, which are yet to go through the homolgation (road worthiness) tests in India

Three Maybachs already, awesome! Talk about India shining (though it is only the urban India). I am pretty surprised that AutoHangar has got the step-motherly treatment from DC by the latter not allowing them to sell Maybachs.

I hear AutoHangar sold 4 SL500's in 3 hours flat - On the same day as the car was displayed. Making an average of 12 lakhs per SL sold...thats not bad for a days work!
