Pic : Red Acura NSX in Bombay & Bangalore

Acura [Not Honda] NSX. Makes it quite a rare car. Honda's best mid-engined car. Better knows as Honda's Ferrari. Even though it cud never beat a Ferrari. V6, 3 Litre, 280 bhp takes it to a top speed of 270 kmph. Just around 10kmph less than the 355. Costs less than half the price of the 355 Spider, its a good vfm sportscar. A poor mans Ferrari.

This is, i guess, one of the 2 NSX's in Bombay. The other is a red Honda NSX. Seen it almost a year back. Very badly maintained car. The guys put free flow and you wudnt believe but it sounds more like a Evo-Maruti800 than a NSX. This car , though was quite well maintained. Only needed a decent wash.

P.S. I'm not sure, but I guess this car was owned by Bhushan long before he bought the 355.

Ahh...yes...VTEC at its pinnacle.

There are more than 2 NSXs in bombay V12.... i have seen a silver one on the road as well as parked undercovers and jacked up (probably to avoid heel-toeing ont he low profile tires since the car mustnt have been used much. It was at a pedder rd. petrol pump but it dissappeared about a year ago. The NSX in silver was stunning.
Also a red NSX had come into bombay to midtown motors as some mechanics in delhi had opened up the car and could not get it back together running perfectly. This was because apparently there is a certain unorthodox procedure that has to be followed when putting the head back on, otherwise the timing chain gets placed wrongly. I dont know where that car is now either.

cya
Rehaan.

ps - oh and also the NSX-R can keep up with a 355 on the track.....loosing only about a second per minute... amazing for half the price!!!

Hi dipen,
Do one thing. Right click on that image. Go to Properties. Copy the link and paste it in another IE window. Same goes for most of the pics on other posts.

Doesn't anyone have an NSX-R in India, coz these are the old 3 ltr versions (slow compared to the "R").

The NSX-R is a 3.2 ltr version with 290bhp and a 6 speed M/T. The figures maynot sound to be much of an improvement over these but, on a track the NSX R is easily a couple of seconds quicker per lap.

These are late 13 secs to the 1/4 mile. The R has been tested at early 12 secs (i've got the video of that).

Only problem is that with cars like the Subaru and the Evo, it doesn't really make sense spending $82000 for a NSX-R.

I'd rather buy a 2.2 ltr S2000 and get it tuned.

Honda seriously needs a performancce AWD sedan (like the Evo and Imprezza).

Y do i get the feeling that the red NSX might have a suspension issue. Can you see it drooping towards the left? That's not normal.
