V12, just yesterday i read on xbhp (was looking at the speedrun fotos) that some guy said that there are 2 sl55s in bombay.... and he knows who the owners are (not personally though) .....HOWEVER he did continue to say "btw V12, contact me if you wanna know the locations of the mentioned cars...." maybe u should read that thread ;-] http://xbhp.com/forum/topic.bike?TOPIC_ID=277&whichpage=3

So what you have seen might just be the "second" sl55 ~!

rtech and ajmat - pics seem to have been taken in bahrain.

GTO, those are nice wheels...but then the SL55 multispokes that come stock and are on RG's car are just beautiful !!

aadix - its possible to get a complete brabus kit from certain official dealers/importers. I remember autocar had a black "brabus" C class that the reviewed more than a year ago i guess. Quite an expensive package..but it included wheels, lighter camshafts or connrods (cant remember), differnt coloured light in the dash instrument cluster, maybe some skirting and stuff as well...dont really remember the exact details....
Or..you could just buy the wheels... remember seeing a 20" brabus wheel selling for 1lakh at a tireshop at grant road. (ie 1lakh for ONE wheel!!)

Guys you can get just a set of Brabus rims for any merc on the market. You do not need to buy the entire kit. Auto Hangar is not the official stockist of Brabus because MBIL would screw their happiness. The number you got V12 on the C-Class is correct and it is a wreck. It used to have 18" Brabus rims and the body kit which consisted of front and rear bumpers and side skirts.

Dude,
there are several companies that modify mercs. AMG is the most official, as they are around for the whole creation process of the car (and are owned by MB if im not mistaken). Brabus is the next best well known, and there are several others including Carlsson and Renntech.

Lorinser is also a tuning company which tunes Mercs and other cars as well. There are quite a few Lorinser Mercs in bombay. Theres Lorinser E, Lorinser M, Lorinser SLK, Lorinser C, Lorinser S.
Check this site for more info : http://www.lorinser.com

Anyways check this pic of the Lorinser SLK : Red Lorinser SLK

Following are the Aftermarket Tuners for Mercedes Cars
1)Lorinser
2)Brabus
3)Carlsson
4)Opera
5)Fab Design
6)Renntech
7)Kleeman
AMG is sport division of Daimler Chrysler similar to what M Sport is for BMW.
AMG does not do after market tuning they build complete cars. What ever aftermarket AMG parts you see on the regular mercs are AMG spare parts bought and put on you regular E240 or SL500 or S350.
Answering your question Vishnu regarding how much a body kit would cost from AMG or Brabus would be in the range of 2.25 and this would include your front bumper, rear bumper, fog lamps and side skirts. The 17" rims with tyres would work out in the range of 1.75. The car would have to bought seperately of course.

u mean they have a separate manufacturing plant for AMG cars??
I thought SL500's are sent to AMG to convert them to SL55s.

No boss hat not right. Would be too much of a waste of time, effort and money to rip apart a Brand New SL500 and then put SL55 Parts in it. The SL55 Is built from ground up by AMG. The basic shell and parts are provided by Daimler Chrysler and then AMG does the rest.
