What's so down to earth in the Sera personified by you buddy?

The Lancer's a great, rare find, but hate the two-tone colour.

The Merc GL looks huge. Is it the elder sibling of Merc ML320 (larger than ML320) ?

I think foby might have ment that Sera spotting in a local garage! Its the same in almost all the import's case through out India. Any imports after first & second or might be the thrid owner it reaches the people who buy it only because its affordable to buy. But when it comes to maintance they used to take it to local garages & get spares suitable from the Indian models. I've seen a Merc SL280 in a local garage in Delhi doing some repair for its a/c unit.

Rather than elder its better to say bigger, because GL is launched after the ML is launched, hence ML is the elder.

Bimme

spotted a silver bimmer z3 near to my office in kakkanad , i spotted this car when I came out for a quick fag so I was not carrying my mobile , it ended up in missing the snaps of that car , damn it

It was silver in color black soft top covered , carried arab nation number plates. it may be Dubai if I am not wrong .

later spotted the car again in the sea port airport road , but he ripped off while I get my camera ready.

Also heard that there is also a Rolce Royce in cochin with one Liquor baron also a close friend to Dr . Mallya.

Any one have got the details about this both cars ?

I dont know about the formalities , but if you watch close around , we can understand that there are carnet vehicles getting registered here in a registration office , I have nothing to claim , but I suspect it , we can sustect a back door currently running here , that may be the reason that cars got registerd are all around india , there was a lobby before but it was gunned down , the famous taxi ferrari(KL-01) with all India permit is a living testimony for that.

The Famous Ferrari never came via CARNET I believe, it came under EPCG scheme.

I am also curious How do i get to know on the CARNET procedures? Are you sure CARNET cars LHD's are getting registered in Kerala??

Maybe I am not in touch with the reality in kerala, but I do not think cars on CARNET are being registered, especially the LHD ones.

Some of the imported lexus continue to run on ARAB plates for sometime before they get registered in kerala , I think that gives the impression that these cars were on CARNET and then got themselves registered locally.

Some of the owners love driving around with foriegn plates and a ministers kin did that recently.

@Zebo: One can bring the vehicle on CARNET for 6 months and then extent it for another 5 months.

I just saw the BMW Z3 with the roof down and stuck in a traffic jam, the car had odd LED Strip daytime running lights which looked very very cheap.

100 Dirham 'Gelf' led strip from Sharjah, BADLY installed. Nothing more to it - the arab kids love it, apparently so do the pseudo arabs from Kerala. Except that they do this on their Daihatsus and Toyotas.

why would someone bring in this old crappy z3?
The LED's looks sad, the car would have been better if he had installed better alloys.
Its the ' GELF' mentality, too much money, very less exposure, not meant for all though, just for the ones whos got just enough dough and seen less.
