TATA Elxsi does technical research for JLR in Trivandrum. That is why there has been sightings of the new RR, albeit camouflaged, in the state capital long before the vehicle was launched.

Maybe the XJ is a test vehicle, temporarily imported from the UK, undergoing trials here?

^^ Isn't that the temp spare wheel? I guess the rest of the wheels would be regular alloys.

Practically, yes. It was BMW India's display car (Not Demo/TD, just Display). Hence, it is specced to the brim. All boxes ticked.

That is a space-saver spare tyre. I introductory model comes with really good alloys otherwise.

Re: Supercars & Imports : Kerala

All the 4 wheels were the same . I know that the street versions will be sporting 5 spoke alloys, but what is "space saver spare tyre"?

Spare wheel which is of lesser width than regular tyre/alloy, which cannot be used above 80kmph if i remember correctly. Basically less intrusion to bootspace.

Awesome car, Kerala is choked with 520s this guy surely stands out from the crowd.

The area where that photo has been taken hasn't changed from the first time I saw it more than 22 years ago .

Just wondering how he made it past Kuthiran.

he could take the shornur route, slightly longer (30km's) but good road; in some stretches really good road.

Kuthiran roads are pathetic. Nobody takes that route these days. People travelling from Palakad to Cochin usually takes shornur road.

Well, this is my best guess. Maybe the dealer is using space savers all around to save the new tyres/ alloys while going to the RTO for registration. Also, helps to keep the speed under check as most dealers employ WTCC drivers.

I have checked it out on the net, but what I meant was petrol, its rare to see any big petrol cars these days in Kerala.

I tried this road at night, sometime in Jan I think, the surface was awesome and the curves were fun, no traffic as everthing in the towns along the route shut by 8PM. I hope the monsoon hasn't wrecked it.

@streetracer_919 You are right, the last person I know who took that road did it in a Fortuner, nowadays most people from my area use the Kumily road.

Back to the M5, with all those speed cameras around I wonder where he have some fun, maybe a trip to Bangalore once in a while.
