Re: Supercars & Imports : Kerala

Went for the event with a friend yesterday. It was blissful to just stare at the Aventador. Simply stunning!
The executive from Lamborghini Bangalore (Mr. Ram) who was telling us about the cars was extremely knowledgeable and had an answer to every question (however silly) I asked. Here are some things I found interesting :

-Every Lamborghini comes with an unlimited mileage/3 year standard warranty and its first service is at 2500 KM.

-With regard to ground clearance, the Aventador, has an adjustable ground clearance that varies from 100-140 mm. We were told that, this, along with the rock solid suspension would enable the car to clear every bump that you could imagine a 5 series/E class to clear.

-The doors in the Aventador are not electric but have to be manually pulled upwards (which is extremely cool, indeed)!

-The Aventador is longer and wider than the 5 series (couldn't believe this, till I "googled" it myself)

Here are some pictures from my side. Please excuse the quality, since they were taken from my phone. Eagerly waiting for Scorcher to upload his set of snaps !

Re: Supercars & Imports : Kerala

Thanks a lot 275 bhp. The Aventador looks absolutely amazing. Did you ask him if the suspension was really indeed 'rock' solid as all the magazines reported that driving in one is the same as hopping in a pogo stick.
And is the Galardo the older version one? I thought the bumper design was little more different ?

Yes, that's the slightly older version. The newer one got a slightly different bumper design as rightly stated by you!
I wonder where they were hiding this car all this while!
Is it going to be a display car for the Bangalore showroom?

Well, the comparison was with a BMW and he said that the suspensions were much more stiffer than that of a bimmer, hence, enabling it to clear any bumps which can by cleared by the same. Maybe the supercar gurus can shed some light on this?
I was also wondering what makes hand assembled supercars so desirable (apart from the exclusivity one gets because they are highly priced)? Aren't machines more efficient in this regard? Any particular advantage of not using a machine to do this?

That is a LP 550-2, which does not get the 2013 face-lift/new bumper-work, it being solely reserved for the 560-4, and now very recently, the limited edition Squadra Corse.

Re: Supercars & Imports : Kerala

Just a few corrections i needed to make here -

- Service is required once in 15000kms or a year. And that goes for the first service as well.

- The standard ground clearance is 125mm which can be lifted to 165mm. Yes, thats a decent clearance enough for the Aventador to bear the Indian punishment.

Might i add to this that at least in Bombay the Lamborghini's do not need to be lifted for speed breakers in the city, its only when you take them out station and come across the real big speed breakers for truck traffic is where they need to be lifted.

Re: Supercars & Imports : Kerala

Im not sure if the 165mm is good enough for a place like Bangalore. There are certain speed breakers that rub the under-belly of my CRV. Especially around the whitefield area. Here, private offices, high end residences design and build their own speed breakers. The corporation seems to have no power to control these either.

That's a brand new car which came down just a week back. The LP550-2 doesn't get the facelift, neither does the 570-4 Superleggera.

The car is up for grabs at the moment and I don't think such a hot shade will sit in the shelf for long.

The showroom wont be open before December.

Re: Supercars & Imports : Kerala

The Aventador simply the stole show even with that VERY Limited Edition Colour Gallardo (The only one for India as I was told) next to it.
The Rosso Letto is easily the best colour on a Gallardo that I've ever seen.
The Aventador just looks INSANE. It looks like its not from this world and its absolutely huge. Huge as in the width of the car, the exhaust pipe, the rear tyre width, the huge air intakes on either side and that V12 engine , MASSIVE.

Here are some pics. Sorry for the crappy quality, its from my phone.

The front portion of that Gallardo is raised too high. Looks akward (like the old Hyundai Accent). Or did they raise that to the max to show it can clear the bad roads?
And did they do the same for the Aventador?

Nice pics interceptor! Is that you sitting inside the car? Did you get to rev the monstrous engine?

AFAIK, they did raise the front portion of the Aventador. Not sure about the Gallardo though.
