All-new Aston Martin Vantage launched at Rs. 2.95 crore

Aston Martin has launched the all-new Vantage in India with a price tag of Rs 2.95 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The event was held at Infiniti cars outlet in Mumbai.

Based on Aston Martin’s next generation platform, 70 per cent of the Vantage’s components are bespoke. Built on a bespoke ‘Bonded Aluminium’ underframe, the new Vantage weighs just 1,530 kg. The Vantage also is the first Aston Martin to be fitted with an electronic rear differential.

The Vantage is powered by a Mercedes- AMG-sourced 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine which puts out 510hp and 685Nm of torque. All that power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The car does 0-100kph in a claimed 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 313kph.

With 20 units allocated to India for the year and deliveries set to commence at the start of 2019, the new Aston Martin Vantage will take on the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GT and the Porsche 911 in our market.

Not a fan of the rear taillight design. AM seems to have overdone it, contrary to their usual practice of understated elegance. Those iconic flared C- shaped taillights would have looked much better, and would have provided a nod to their heritage designs.

Overall, looks to be an excessively designed Aston, though parts of it still are, as is customary for AM, achingly gorgeous.

A real piece of art the new Vantage. In my opinion this is the first full proper all new revamped Aston Martin design language, not that the DB 11 wasn't new but there were quite a few bits from the older models in that car too. Cant wait to see the Vantage on our roads. I wonder how many people forked over their cheques and are waiting for delivery.
