Wiesmann GT MF5 Coupe & GT MF4 Roadster in India

2 Wiesmann GT MF5 cars have been imported into India. One is a coupe while the other car is a roadster.

The source mentions that Wiesmann is now owned by an Indian family. Is this true? Does anyone have more info on this? The company website seems to be down as well. I was under the impression that the company will be taken over by British investors from the Wiesmann brothers.

Quote:
The Indian Autmotive Scene is improving Day by Day, and here are some latest Entrants to the country, The Weismann GT MF5 Coupe and the Weismann GT MF5 Roadster, completely handbuilt and Powered by a Thunderous BMW V10 from the E60 M5, This car will surely turn heads wherever it will go, Currently these two are in Carnet as the Weismann GMBH is owned by an Indian Family. Hopefully they will be launched here, What do u guys think about the car and do u want to see more of these in India??

re: Wiesmann GT MF5 Coupe & GT MF4 Roadster in India

Wow this is great news - one of my most favourite cars. I went crazy after seeing the Wessiman Roadster on Top Gear.

According to Motor Authority:

Quote:
Fortunately for Wiesmann, a pair of Indian investors, also brothers, bought the company in 2015 and injected some much-needed funds, an undisclosed 8-figure sum. The investors, Roheen and Sahir Berry, were already Wiesmann customers and were keen to see the company continue. They are working closely with the founders and are keeping production in Wiesmann’s home of Dülmen.

If I am not wrong, the current owner of Wiesmann (and the person who has imported these cars) used to post here as Liv2Drv. The fellow has a thread of his collection here. (My Toys - Hummer, Porsche, Ferrari)

Here's the thread link. Amazing collection I must say.

This is a true enthusiast - putting his money where this heart is; and saving a dream car (and company) from going under.

Thank you liv2drv.

The cars are on Carnet for 1 month. Specially brought down for Liv2driv's marriage. The company is owned by his elder brother.

Just a small correction - the silver one is a Wiesmann GT MF5 Coupe and the black/dark grey one is a Wiesmann GT MF4 Roadster.

Gorgeous beauties. The radiator grille is reminiscent of both Bugatti and Alfa Romeo.
And the shape of the car! My god, it is a fluid sculpture in metal!
Fabulous.

So evocative of the 1950’s but with all the modernity thrown in!
