No its not the first edition. Although it is the First customer car, it is completely customised with the individual frozen paint option and nice tan nappa leather interiors. Lot of other options that drove the price up to nearly 2.2cr OTR Mumbai ! Car was order in September 2017

I found the exhaust a bit muted to be honest and it soon will have the M exhaust put on and some carbon bits in the near future.

FYI- The first editions are only in the frozen Dark Red color hence it's obvious this isn't a first edition. Here is the link: https://www.bmwusa.com/limited-editi...d-edition.html

Yes, indeed a First Edition.
If I recollect, this car had around 140 Km on the odo at Auto Expo and Auto Car India had also previewed and posted a video, so no wonder customer backed out Any idea if this is a dealer inventory or with BMW India?

I think you are mixing the red with the grey one which is indeed a customers car - of your friend, we are referring to the Red colour one.

No, not the same car. The one on display at AE was indeed the Press Car (which I only later realized). This car is yet to have its PDI done even.

From what I heard, the reason the customer backed out is because he had expected the car to cost him around 2 with a PY regn and with the current turbulent state of affairs in Kerala regarding PY cars, he has to do a KL and that would drive the price up to 2.5cr roughly.

Bumped into Dippy and he happened to have this stunning Frozen Red F90 M5 for company. Did not click many pics but it sure is one FASSST car!

Hi Guys,

Please welcome my baby onto this forum.

I picked up the car in September last year and am absolutely mind-blown by it. I love every aspect of the car and it is my daily. In it's first 3000 km's itself, it has seen 2 track days and I've changed almost 3 full sets of tires

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! Many many more trackdays for sure! Waiting for my warranty to expire for the tune/downpipe/intake. Catback and more cosmetic mods coming very soon!

Thanks so much! Yeah I still drool over the color everyday and the best part is - it is a standard color and we don't have to drop big bucks for it. BTW, I am new to this forum but came across some of your builds! Big fan!

Re: BMW M5 Spotted Thread (w/Pics) - E28, E34, E39, E60, F10, F90

Took this incredible super-sedan for a breakfast run to Lonavla. Oh my god - 600 horses . The power delivery is insane...relentless...brutal. 0 - 100 in the low 3 seconds, they say and I totally believe it. Gun it in the mid-revs and she pulls like a rocket! Engine is M-A-D and the gearbox is quick. Tyres stick like super glue to tarmac and her poise is remarkable, for what is a big + heavy sedan. The steering is nice, but I think it's lost a bit of purity due to the AWD. Isn't as tail-happy as the last-gen M5 or even my humble 530d (AWD again). Left with 1/2 tank of fuel and had to refill on the way back. 3.1 kmpl .

What driving pleasure - I have a grin plastered on my face that's probably not going to fade for another couple of hours.

She flies on the open road, yet can be a daily driver too:

You know a car is special when its speedo is marked till 330 kmph:
BMW M5 Spotted Thread (w/Pics) - E28, E34, E39, E60, F10, F90-1b.jpg

Hustling her on the fast lonavla ghat:

Breakfast @ Buvachi Misal. I still don't like this quirky front-end. The F10 M5 is more handsome IMHO:

You MUST visit this place for misal pav + pav vada + strong tea:

600 horses, spicy misal & a good road. What more can a man ask for?

Always park such that you can keep an eye on the car:

This is what an M5 does to you. Revv hard = your hair stands up + goosebumps:
BMW M5 Spotted Thread (w/Pics) - E28, E34, E39, E60, F10, F90-6.jpg

One of the most impressive engines I've ever redlined:
BMW M5 Spotted Thread (w/Pics) - E28, E34, E39, E60, F10, F90-7.jpg

Windows down + 8-cylinder roar in the tunnels:
BMW M5 Spotted Thread (w/Pics) - E28, E34, E39, E60, F10, F90-8.jpg

You can take her pretty much anywhere. Supercar performance + everyday practicality is the forte of these super sedans. I didn't scrape her anywhere (although I was also very careful on bumps). The ride is firm and you feel every pebble on the road, yet it's not back-breaking at all:

Car got a surprising amount of attention. Not the sleeper I thought she'll be. Or maybe it was the colour:

Every time I step out for a drive, I spot a Team-BHP fan. Thumbs up exchanged!

Two sporty editions, each special in its own way. While the vRS is well-priced for what it offers, the M5 is GROSSLY overpriced @ 1.7 crores on the road. Best to go the pre-worshipped route:

It can be very tail happy if you toggle the DSC to 2WD mode. That changes to full time RWD but you really got to be brave with steel bits to do that

I drove the previous one on the chennai track and it was the most wild car out of all the M cars. Very easy to get it wrong. I drove the M3, M4, M6, X5M, X6M clean and without any issues. Drove the M5 and ran off the track once and lost the rear after that till the DSC kicked in and saved my bum.

First time out with this 600 BHP car...you think I'm going to put any of the nannies off? Ask Akshay1234 though. I'm sure he's done it. Spoke to him and he actually tuned the M1 & M2 modes to his preferences! I just engaged sport and revved away .

Saw the car in my building on Sat just as Akshay was taking it to work. Sat inside for a few mins. Absolute dream machine this one. He mentioned you were taking it for a Lonavla spin today so was expecting a post at some point.

I can only imagine what a drive this must have been.
