Passed by the car today, it's still there. Couldn't click much pics due to the rains. Will go tomorrow and try to get some more shots and have a talk with the dealer. There was no sign of any AC Schnitzer badging or decal, but saw this "Eibach Systems" decal on the side skirts.

Don't think its that car. That car had bigger rims I think, and seemed to be in pretty good condition last I saw it, so this might be a different one.

Well, I have my doubts if that's a genuine M car. The badges sure do look suspicious and the positioning of the M5 badge is a little incorrect from the factory settings. If you look closely at the pictures below and compare, the badge's placed a little lower than usual on the car in question. And of course, that M roundel looks a bit amiss.




Then there's the conspicuous absence of the lip spoiler on the boot that came as standard with the E39 M5.

Also the wheels. Upon closer inspection this particular car has one of the regular E39 five spoke wheels repainted in black and NOT the original M5 wheels. Pictured immediately below are the wheels from the car in question and the original E39 M5 wheels below that for reference.



This might very well be a regular E39 with the M Package, like the one pictured below. What beats me are the mirrors. This car undoubtedly has M5 mirrors. Maybe the owner got them installed later. Interesting car nonetheless. I might be wrong here, but just being inquisitive. Some more pictures of the car will certainly make things clearer.

It's 100% a genuine M5. It indeed is the 272 regn no that is Salman Khan's ex-car. It had the most amazing light blue shade, repainting it was probably the worst idea!
AyAn - The logo mismatch as well as the spoiler absence are all due to the paintjob. The car definitely had the lip spoiler prior to this. Even the wheels are different now, it had gunmental multispoke rims.

Well it might not be the ex-Sallu car then. Just a hunch.
Would be happy if it turns out to be true as i dont really like the shade on this car and the logo mismatch has really ruined the look.

I was at the dealer this afternoon. The car isn't for sale, it has come there for repairing. It has some serious engine issues and the owner might even sell the car if the cost is very high.

Now, coming to the car, is NOT an M5 is what one of guys told me. I asked him to open the hood and show me the interiors, but he didn't have the keys so that wasn't possible. According to him, it's a normal 5 series with quad exhaust and M5 badging.

However, I noticed that the pair of exhausts on the left had small pieces of debris sitting inside, an indication it could a fake exhaust. The pair on the right was totally clean though.

Overall, the car isn't in a good state. The front end is kinda bent down, maybe some suspension issues.

As I had mentioned before, I still think that E39 is NOT a M5. Why would anybody downsize to those run of the mill rims for starters?!

Its very obvious through the pics that the car is not an M5. The following things are missing :

The lip spoiler
The M5 alloys

Salman Khans M5 had the original M5 milti-spoke wheels in silver - which were later painted in gunmetal grey. This car is not the same. Its the one which I have posted in the link.

I checked with the current owner of 272 if he repainted or changed the reg no and he said no. This car as you rightly have mentioned has fake exhausts and badge.

This car is cricker Yuvraj Singhs car. There was another Interlagos Blue which now runs on a Matt Black wrap.

Yes the car belongs to Yuvraj Singh and is mostly seen in Bandra.

Spotted this E60 M5 with M6 wheels the other day in Bandra. Believe this was earlier owned by a Teambhpian. The car also had M stickering on the bonnet - somewhat similar to what Insideman had earlier on his M3.
