Is any E34 530i/535i/540i/M5 available? Spotted several 525is/TDSes, but none of the above variants. Open to any other Beemers also if available at a budget .

Hello AC, there was a E34 520i available for sale last year at a dealer in Lokhandwala. The car was lying unused for almost 3 years. It was on sale for 70k, Delhi registered, with all papers. The car is no longer there, but you can still try your luck.

Thanks a ton for the information. Ideally was looking for a bigger engine, but I’m sure I’d be able to install a turbocharger to make this fun as well

The E34s came in at a time when the fuel sold here was not the best quality, and hence, the more robust diesels were the preferred option amongst buyers. Same reason why we see a huge disparity in the number diesel vs petrol cars from W123 gen, and to an extent, the W124 as well.

That said, there are a few E34 520is available for sale, and occasionally a 525/530i does pop up for sale.

If the generation is not a particular requirement, suggest you look at the E39 as well, where much more variety is found, including 540is at rather mouth watering prices

The E36 is probably THE entry level model to get, in terms of budget. Purchase price and maintenance both are fairly do-able. However, getting a 6-potter might be a challenge.

All the best at finding your Bimmer!

Makes a lot of sense!

I’m not really fussy about the generation, but I donno of any E39 available...

It is indeed a big challenge... + I’m looking for preferably a 328i, or at least a 325i which are probably the harder ones to find. 316is are pretty easily available.

A quick question to all the V8/V10 M5 owners on the forum.

What is the fuel economy you are getting, I am really curious.

and also does the cylinder deactivation on the F90 models work?

I own an F10 M5 and I get 4.5 -5 kmpl in city and around 9.5 on highways. Once I was able to extract at 12 on bangalore - mysore expressway by putting it on cruise at 95. Was a very difficult mind control exercise.

Wow! 12 Kmpl is very impressive for a twin turbo V8. Hope you continue to enjoy your M5 and its power!
