A chap in Kolhapur has ordered these cars, and they are currently awaiting clearance in the Bombay docks. Should be out on the road before month end.

1. Rolls Royce Phantom
2. Two Hummer H2's
3. A Black SL55 AMG
4. Lexus LX470.

Should agricultural income still be 100% tax free?

Whoa!!

like that list wasnt impressive enough.....you've left out the Maybach 62 (which i assume is in the list as well since your topic says so!).... is it for the same guy though?

And once again... why is the maybach being imported and not bought in india!

I am not surprised guys!!
I was once driving on a small dirt track in a very remote village in Nellore Dt in AP. i always heard that this region has very rich farmers. what i saw was unbelievable. First i saw a vehicle trying to overtake me. the next moment it was a farmer driving in a brand new Pajero glx. the suv was totally trashed around like a normal jeep. The body panels damaged beyond repair!! The guy just didnt seem to care if its a Pejero or a jeep. He was the first person i have seen using a offroader the way its supposed to be used...

its one and the same thing.
u buy it from an indian dealer , he will import the car for u ..

OR

U buy it from an international dealer . he will export the car for u .

In any case the after sales service will be provided by the Indian dealer only.

Buying it from abroad maybe cheaper as it would save the customer the Indian dealer's margin!!!

I think this chap is planning to modernise agriculture.

He wants to prove to the world that India is not a backward country .

Maybe he is planning to replace those age old tractors with the Hummers

So , he just started off with 2 Humm on a experimental basis

hey guys....just found out that kolhapur was one of the first places in India to have a maybach..... was owned by some maharaja ......check out the text below
High-society customers

For politicians and businessmen, princesses and emperors, stars and popular idols, Maybach cars were a means of transportation to befit their station. Among the Maybach enthusiasts were famous names like the tenor Enrico Caruso and world heavyweight boxing champion Max Schmeling. Then there were illustrious figureheads, decorated with titles of nobility, who also had themselves chauffeured around in a Maybach such as the emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassi; King Paul of Greece; the heirs to the Dutch throne, Princess Juliana and Prince Bernard; Fürst Esterhazy; and the Indian Maharajas of Jaipur, Potila and Kolhapur. Of course, the Maybach customer list also included prominent figures in industry and high finance, including Werner von Siemens and Privy Councillor Robert Bosch.
