The S600 comes fully loaded, what options u have to tick are the color of the leather, type of leather, color of wood, alloy wheel design etc etc, they are not optional extras but choices.

By the way the S600(fully loaded,CBU from germany) is around 160K in the US,which should be max 1.8cr in india including the duties, and all those foolish taxes.

OK, I just spoke to my friend here is the Break Up.

Car :- 1,33,36,819
Handling Charge for Sanghi :- 25,000
Insurance :- 4,66,690
Reg :- 18,67,155

TOTAL :- 1,56,95,664

So I am wrong by saying 1.61 Cr but it is 1.56 Cr.

see when u try to fully load a vehicle ex-factory it will always be more expensive than factory standard fitted vehicle.

just like fog lamps on some cars cost 6k to fitted as extra but do u think they cost 6K to the company.

Merv,
if a S350L costs 1.56 Cr, how can you say the S600 will cost 1.80 Cr?

The S350L dosent come fully loaded from the factory and many of the options are not even optional on the S350,so ur friend has paid from the pocket to get these full options.

If the S600 is going to cost me 2.7Cr to get from Germany then one may well pay 160K $ and 20K for all the AMG and Dedigno and get it from the US and pay another 200K for duty and tax
which will be 380K $=1.71Cr Rs and yes it will be fully loaded,no option spared.

The S600 (CBU) is not fullyloaded..Distronic Plus, Panoramic roof, Keyless go, etc should be loaded to it..

Distronic Plus is not allowed in India, keyless go is standard, yes maybe Panoramic roof is optional but it dosent cost 1 Cr Rs.and when ur saying that it is optional that means ur talking of the base price which will be even lower. So base price+optional extras=fully loaded=160K in the US.

What i am saying is In the US the fully loaded S600 with all options ticked is nearly 160K $ so how will it be more expensive if ordered from germany, maybe the forex rate difference is there but that will be max 20K $ extra, everthing loaded how much will it cost

200K+250K=2 Cr Rs max to max

We discuss stuff on this forum for the sake of information to be passed on to the people who are unaware or for the sake of knowledge to be passed around. It is not necessary to only talk about stuff that we are using or we are about to buy.

An S350 costs what 80 lacs on road? That is with duty, road tax, registration. All those taxes are percentages of the cost of the car. So then the car must cost about 35 lac rupees(63,000 Euros) [A Definite over-estimate] prior to import duty, tax, registration. So on a car that costs 1.6 crores on road the cost must be about 65lac ruppees (118,000Euros).You mean to say your friend opted for 30 lac ruppees worth of options on a 35 lac ruppee car? Why didnt he just buy 2 base S350s, or one S500 with almost the same options. As the engine size goes up the cars standard features increase. Everything is not an option on every variant of the same model. Think about it. An Accord 3.0V6 has more standard options than an Accord 2.4 I4. Similarly on an S350 theres less standard equipment. An S500/S600 is more close to being fully loaded. When paying 100,000Euros on a car there are a lot of features you expect standard on the car. People dont just pay for bigger engines. Also I reeeeeally want to know of these amazing options which cost so much. The most expensive options on these cars cost 2000Euros max, and there are only a few of those. Your friend can-NOT have found 30 such options. It just doesnt exist.

S600BENZ I second your opinion. Mumbaiya if your friend did end up paying that much, I think he really got ripped off.

Isnt there a member on this forum who has an S350L ? Was it S350L-E240? Why dont we ask him what he paid.

I too agree with S600 & Beemer. It would be really, really difficult (if not impossible) to spec up a S350 in a way that it costs 1.56cr considering that the base price with already quite a lot of equipment is around 75-80L. Doubling the price of the car with just options is not really that easy.

Secondly, if your friend was spending that kind of money why didn't he buy a Bentley Continental? Just my two cents.

If I remember correctly his base car was worth some 67,000 Euros and the options was worth 45,000 Euros. He wanted a S500 only but when he specced that it came to a Grand Total of 1.72 On Road Mumbai. So he went for the S350 as it was comin for 1.56
My Friend is not like a poser who wants a S for the show of it. He wanted it for his comfort. An S without Options is like buying a C Class with more show and that is all. What is the use of the car without Night Vision or Massaging Seats? He would have rather bought the W220 S and that is all. All those options combined the car is the most comfortable in the world. The car is even more comfortable than the Phantom or the Bentley. I would suggest you'll get a quote from Mercedes Benz India for a CBU S Class with INR Pricing.
