SPOTTED: Mercedes B-Class in Delhi

Spotted this with a CD number plate near Khan Market last week. Looked pretty ordinary especially in boggo-spec with Wheel Caps! Was a B200 CDI

Sorry, couldn't get anymore pics of it but AFAIK this is the first B-class in Delhi.

Most C-Classes in India, with the 'Classic' trim, come with 15" wheel caps.

Its a good thing MBIL didnt bring this to India. It wouldnt have fitted into any exisiting segment and a 15 lak price tag for a new morphed segment would have been suicide.

I'd bet that that B-Class was owned/driven by a low-level staffer of a western European embassy; most likely the German/Swiss/French (in that order) embassy.

Well, I doubt it's going to be a low-level staffer. Low-level anyones would be driving old Golfs or Polos, or even Indian cars. And it's not going to be someone French, I am pretty sure. They'll probably stick to Renaults/Citroens/Peugeots.

B Class is an oddball
It is actually a stretched A class and the plan was to sell it in the US instead of the A class which maybe considered too small. Unfortunately, it does not hit the right buttons in terms of looks but utility wise, it is quite good in terms of space utilisation.

Might have been a good VW!
