Re: Gautam Singhania's fantastic collection of cars!

Been lucky enough to have attended an event at the Raymond Grounds in Thane where GHS spun the days out of that ZX. The S15 was present too but some issue ensured it was parked.

Here are a few pictures from the event as well as the random times GHS is seen in the city pottering around with a few of the Gems from his collection.

The Windover bodied PII cannot be missed. The matching upholstery material was designed and manufactured exclusively for the car, as were the tassels.

Throw in a LaSalle and you have a heady mix.

Derby never gave option to pick winners. Both 1937, Bentley beautifully crafted by Vesters & Neirinck, RR by Thrupp & Maberley. Take your pick.

I'm curious about the seatbelt situation. Is it legal to drive it like this (without seat belts even existing, let alone being strapped)? Genuinely wondering.

I was thinking along the same lines, wouldn't this vehicle along with many more in this thread come under modified vehicles category(that too some huge modifications) and whose registration should be cancelled?

Supreme Court: Modified bikes, cars are illegal

The Supreme Court of India has clarified that the law does not permit any type of modification to cars or bikes that alter the specifications of the manufacturer. Modifications made outside of the purview of what is mentioned on the vehicle's registration certificate will be deemed illegal.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modif...nal-specs.html (SC: Vehicle cannot be altered to change original specs)

Or perhaps that law is for the common man.....

I believe the rules are applicable to vehicles registered in India. I guess the Hot rods along with a few supercars are here on carnet. The Indian regd cars that are heavily modified like the R33 GTR, E46 M3, Silvia etc are used on tracks. I don't think he drives those cars on public roads.

Most early cars, till it was made mandatory for all car manufacturers to supply cars fitted with seat belts, never had seat belts. Even with all safety devices available today, first and foremost, the driver has to drive responsibly irrespective of the era of car.
They had the motorcycles, the cars and the Morgan. There could not be a better example of Henry Fredrick Stanley Morgan's creation.Gautam Singhania's fantastic collection of cars!-mo.jpg

Yes, of course. But the question here is - law does not seem to allow driving a car without seat belts, irrespective of its year of manufacture. Hence the doubt.

Are all these cars in India and is there any chance we can see them? I remember seeing glimpses of these cars on the Instagram account of Toyatotech - any connection?

All the cars are restored @ Super Car Club Garage at their facility in Thane. The facility is open for car enthusiasts who might like to visit, get their cars serviced/repaired/restored. There are lot of social media posters who have access to these cars on streets/garages/drives, who have been posting images/videos.

Here is part of his UK collection. He's owned the Murceilago for many years but the Ferrari SF90 and 458 Speciale seem newer.

The 458 Speciale has been a part of the lineup since long, infact, if I am not mistaken, the 458 was briefly in India along with the LP 640, Testarossa and the 328 from the UK. The cars were parked at his Alibaug farmhouse and were never seen on the roads.
The lineup outside the UK hotel also had his yellow Performante parked. The car wears a funny plate that reads KI55 GHS.
