Because they are either a piece of art meant to be admired, or a showpiece . Please check out this thread (Why Supercar sales are so woefully low in India (relative to the overall market size)) - these cars are extremely impractical to drive a lot.

Actually, most special purpose vehicles (even vintage cars, superbikes) are weekend toys at best.

This car was bought by the present owner in March 2020 at 79 lakhs and he got a custom sports Exhaust installed, which caused a issue. Porsche quoted replacement of the Sports Exhaust, hence being sold.

Eh? Don't know what is a pure manual and an impure manual but the said car is a seven speed stick shift with three pedals. Porsche did offer the 991.1 Carrera with a manual gearbox. It wasn't very highly spoken of by the purists since the gearbox was based on the PDK and had way too many gears to row through. Many complained of being 'lost' between the 4th and the 7th gears. All aside, it is indeed a proper manual transmission with a stick and three pedals. And as Anand mentioned above, a fair number of these made it to India.

Isn’t 61 lakh an absurd price? For a 2010 997 Porsche which has done almost 40,000km. For just 15 lakh more you could buy a newer 991 generation.

It is indeed an exorbitant price. I guess everybody's considering the fact that used 997s have gone up in value, thanks to them being a lot more mechanical than the 991 and are charging way above market value to cash in.
