Re: The Jio / Ambani Garage : Massive collection of Imports & Supercars

Thanks for the pictures of the Ambani family's car collection OP.

I'm surprised that there is no Porsche coupe in their collection of exotics, even though most of them are more like status symbols which make the mouths of "aam junta" open in awe.

Enthusiast or not, that's a great collection. Must be so cool to just open the internet, choose a car that you like and spec it exactly how you want it without having to ever think about how much any of that costs. The price of these cars is so insignificant that it's almost like they see something cool and say 'I'll take a pair of that Ferrari' - an extra cause why not

There is a cayanne turbo white picture in this thread.

I am sure there are several more turbo porsches in the stable. Over the past few years, the Ambani kids have been buying nearly every droolworthy car.

They even get some of the best allocations of rare cars/limited editions. However, they don't always pick it up. A 488 pista was offered to them a year or so back which they passed on that later went to another client.

I have heard that when the Mumbai RR dealer was taking too long to get the shipment of the DHC Phantom, the son flew to goodwood in his PJ and got it back by air.

Re: The Jio / Ambani Garage : Massive collection of Imports & Supercars

Since Mr Ambani has his office (he owns 8 floors of a 15 storey building) just opposite our office, most of the cars are a common sight minus the sport cars.

I had a funny incident one day, when we were taking a stroll in our building complex post lunch and one of my colleague made a comment on the Bentayga parked in the opposite building. She knew it belonged to Mr Ambani but did not find the car to be attractive

So I had to explain what car it is and why is it so special and had to literally drag her to the car to appreciate the true beauty of it.

To our surprise the driver of the car who was seated outside at a distance noticed our keenness in exploring the car and unlocked it and asked us to sit inside

I didn’t want to soil the extra soft carpet and asked my colleague to take a seat and it was a moment she would cherish for lifetime.

Yes, I didn't notice the Porsche Cayenne amongst the numerous SUVs in Ambani's car collection before posting my reply.

I did edit my post immediately afterwards. I hope you can notice it.

A Range Rover and a X 5 shown in the pics have POLICE written on them. How is it that these private cars have POLICE written on them?

Sweet of the chauffeur, however if it were my chauffeur i'd sack him. More so in times of a pandemic where so much is spoken of public health, he opened a car he's employed to care for to (no offence) strangers.

That is why the chauffer still has his job, as this was back in 2018.

Even a Bentayga is not more important than ones safety and we would have never done anything of this sort in the current times and neither would have the chauffer.

These cars are used by the Police protection provided to the Ambani family. The scorpios and fortuners can't keep up with the Bentayga's and Cullinan's so the Ambani family bought 3 Range Rover's for their security escort. They anyway have to pay for police protection so not have them keep up.

It's definitely illegal to have Police stickers on a vehicle unless it belongs to the Police. But when the owner is the richest citizen in the country, law looks the other way. A sad reality.

As mentioned by BlackWasp on the first page of this thread - "These are cars given to the cops who are assigned for their security."

So the cars are actually being used by police and not by private security. Government or tax payers should not pay for an X5 for Ambani's fleet so he did it himself.

Its a sight to see when they have some important meeting scheduled at their office. Every family member moves in a separate vehicle accompanied by a convoy of security personnel’s which mostly includes Range Rovers, BMW X5, Ford Endeavour, Scorpio and even Force Tempo Traveller. Plus other Top management members who come in their own respective vehicles with a smaller convoy But I think the security fleet is mainly made up of Range Rovers.

Many years back if my memory serves right someone from the Turkish Government came visiting with a convoy of 40 odd cars. The whole building premises was cordoned off by both male and female security personnel dressed in black.

I read of heard somewhere that Abhishek Bachchan mentioned in an interview that the Bachchan family does not travel together, like in planes, for security reasons. If the Bachchan's have that standard, imagine what protocol must the Ambani's be having. It must be further than the most outrageous scenario we can fathom.

The scorpios cant keep up the acceleration or the speed? Even acceleration would not be good on our city roads. Hope they also follow the same speed limits
