Modified Supercars in India

Sports cars and supercars are very exclusive in India. But there are a few who like to customise their cars for even more exclusivity, and sometimes to make them faster in a straight line / on a race track.

Modifications could include bodykits, parts like rear wings, new exhaust systems, after market alloy wheels and even upgrades to the engine and suspension. Many supercars and sports cars in the country also get unique custom wraps.

Here are a few modified sports cars and supercars in India.

AMS Nissan GT-R

This AMS-tuned GT-R is one of the fastest and most powerful ones in the country. It is said to produce a whopping 1,750 BHP!!! The car belongs to the Poonawalla collection.

Lamborghini Gallardo ISS

This green Lamborghini Gallardo ISS was stock for most part of its life. The car was brought as a used buy to Bangalore and after a few years, got a DMC kit, HRE wheels and a Fi exhaust. Sadly, soon after, the car crashed.

Lamborghini Huracan

This Huracan used to belong to the Bren garage. The objective was to make a stock regular Huracan special. The car was initially finished in yellow, and later received the Vorsteiner Novara body kit. Now, it also wears a grey wrap. It's also has a Novitec Inconel Race Exhaust and a Carbon engine hood. It also lost its rear bumper for a while. Now, it has been sold to someone in Chennai.

Mansory Lamborghini Aventador

This Mansory-kitted Lamborghini Aventador is said to be one of the most powerful Aventadors in the country. It also has a flame-spitting Capristo exhaust system adding to the drama!

997 Porsche 911 Turbo

This 911, called Lola, has red decals, red wheels, a Sharkwerks exhaust system and a Gemballa rear wing. The car took part in the Modball rally in 2017.

Twin-Turbo Lamborghini Gallardo

While it looks like any other Gallardo on the outside, under its bonnet, lurks a monster. It has a twin-turbo V10 engine that is said to be putting out a mammoth 1,650 BHP! This supercar, belonging to Gautam Singhania.

Aventador converted to SV

When you wanted an SV but got a normal Aventador! This Lambo got an SV body kit with loads of carbon parts including a carbon hood. It is now finished in purple with white wheels.

Gumball-wrapped Porsche 911

This 911 was wrapped for the 2018 Gumball 3000 rally. The wrap was designed by D.A.D. The car also has Vorsteiner body parts, aftermarket wheels, rear wing and exhaust system.

Porsche 911 Turbo S

This 911 Turbo S from Tamil Nadu is said to be one of the most powerful Porsches in India. It has a Stage 4 upgrade, upgraded turbo, intercooler, Y Pipe, IPD, Methanol injection, Inconel headers, Inconel DCAT and X pip, Carbon aero kit, upgraded brake pads and 20/21 inch wheels. It is claimed to be putting out a massive 950 BHP!

Shelby-kitted Ford Mustang

There are a lot of Ford Mustangs with Shelby body kits in the country. Each one is different from the other in some way or the other. Here's one from Mumbai.

Mercedes CLA 45 AMG

This CLA 45 AMG has a Capristo exhaust with a Milltek downpipe, AMS Alpha intercooler, Mishimoto air intake, a satin chrome wrap, carbon diffuser and carbon trim on the inside. It also has a nice rear wing.

Widebody Jeep Grand Cherokee

We've seen sports cars with widebody kits before, but here's something different - a Jeep Grand Cherokee. This one is said to be the SRT variant, which means it has a massive V8 engine under the hood.

Roush Ford Mustang

This Mustang has been done by one of the most popular Ford Mustang tuners/modifiers. This supercharged Mustang has stage 2 parts and, ironically, a Shelby widebody kit.

This M4 with a huge rear wing. It is said to be one of the fastest M4s in the country, giving even Porsche 911 GT3s a run for their money around the Madras Motor Race Track.

This 911 GT2 RS has been tuned by Manthey-Racing, making it one of the fastest track cars in the country. The GT2 RS MR lapped the Nurburgring circuit 7 seconds quicker than the standard GT2 RS.

Along with sporting body stripes and aftermarket alloy wheels, this Ferrari 812 from Bangalore has a Novitec Stage 2 ECU tune and exhaust.

Lamborghini Huracan

This is one of the most eye-catching Huracans in India, and the first one in Bangalore. Finished in black, the car first got black wheels and then a Novitec Torado rear wing. Later, it was given a Fi exhaust, ADV wheels with RSM wheel caps, gold stripes and gold lettering. The car was eventually sold to someone in Hyderabad and is now finished in dark green. It retains the rear wing and alloy wheels.

While the black Huracan from Bangalore was getting its modifications, this orange Huracan from Mumbai got some carbon-fibre parts and aftermarket alloy wheels to compete with it to become the best looking Huracan in India.

Litchfield Nissan GT-R

This GT-R has had various wraps over the years including this Kabali-themed Rajnikanth wrap. But, it is what's under the skin that is even more impressive. It has Litchfield Stage 5 tune, resulting in a power output of around 750 BHP and a Milltek full exhaust system.

Mansory tuned 730 BHP Mercedes AMG GT S with Prior Design kit

This AMG GT S has a widebody Prior Design body kit and engine modifications by Mansory pushing up the power output to 730 BHP!

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

One of the most expensive and exclusive cars in the country, this Aventador SVJ sports HRE white wheels and a Capristo exhaust system. Note that there is no engine cover in this pic.

This Huracan gets a unique wrap, along with a carbon-fibre hood, RYFT exhaust and rear wing. I had even seen a picture of the car with no rear bumper.

TechArt GTstreet R

TechArt is a German tuning company which specializes in modifying Porsche cars. The GTstreet R is based on the 991 911 Turbo S. The car puts out 710 BHP and 920 Nm. It's 0-100 km/h time is 2.7 seconds and the top speed is 340 km/h! This vehicle is No. 7 of just 30 cars in the world.

BMW M3

Gautam Singhania owns this V8-powered E92 M3 Coupe with widebody kit.

Initially finished in white, Sachin Tendulkar's BMW i8 was custom-painted in red and later, got this widebody kit. It even has 4 fake exhausts (YUCK).

Ferrari 488XX

This has to be one of the most famous Ferrari 488s in India. It started out in life as a stock yellow 488, but was upgraded. It got carbon bits and a Capristo exhaust, along with a subtle rear wing. It's not all just cosmetic though, the power has been bumped up to an alleged 780 BHP as well. Reports suggest that the car is now sold and is almost stock.

Porsche 911 Carrera

Dulquer Salmaan's Porsche 911 Carrera S manual has a custom rear wing, black hood, BBS wheels, Tubi headers, FVD downpipe, and GT3 throttle body.

BMW X6M

This is the first-generation E71 X6 with a Hamann Tycoon body kit. It belongs to the Poonawalla garage.

Ferrari 458 Spider

This 458 has gold aftermarket wheels, a gold Prancing Horse emblem, a subtle rear spoiler and a Fi exhaust.

Great compilation! Always good to see the sheer diversity that our country has not only in people but in cars as well!

I especially loved the 'Unity' Porsche car, definitely stood out from the bunch not because of the specs but due to the message. Helps break the 'brash' supercar owner stereotype that non-enthusiasts might carry. Does anyone have anymore info on that car?

That 911 GT3 RS shares garage space with some wonderful and tastefully modded cars - Mitsubishi Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition, Mitsubishi Evo X, Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche Cayman GT4 Manual, Ford Ranger Wildtrack, Audi RS6 Avant, Mercedes Benz G63 AMG, E60 BMW M5, Land Rover Discovery, Toyota LC200 and Rolls Royce Phantom.

The owner is extremely passionate about cars. She even had imported a Mazda BT50 few years back. Also, the 911 Turbo from this Bangalore garage (pictured above in Post #1) participated in the Modball Rally from London to Ibiza and has been extensively driven across Europe.

Love the color scheme on this one! Favorite of the lot just because of the color. In my personal list, this car would be at the top followed by subtly modded ones.
And for the last spot either the GT-R with hideous Kabali stickers or cheap exhaust modded, unfortunate i8.

AFAIK, the AMS GTR is no longer with the Poonawalla family, but please feel free to correct me.

If we are talking about 'modified' supercars, then Insideman's AMV8 Vantage Q series should surely be present in this thread.

Modifications include, but are not limited to:
Eurocharge Tune
Magnaflow Exhaust
H&R Lowering Springs
Strasse 3-piece wheels
GT3 style hood, side skirts, carbon fibre rear deck lid.


In fact, most of the exotics in this fellow BHPians garage would belong in this thread, but for now, this one takes the cake because of its rarity.

P.S. It's a manual gearbox, too!
