Default Impounded Exotics & Supercars in India: Tales of drugs, fraud and murder

Ever see a luxury car parked in a sorry state, covered in dust and you wonder 'What on earth happened to this car and why did it end up like this?'.

Well, we have a collection of these impounded and abandoned exotics for you, along with some answers... be it criminal wrongdoings of the owner, tax evasion, fraud or even murder.

BMW Z4

This R8 used to belong to cricketer Virat Kohli. The car lies in this sorry state in a police station in Thane due to a fraud committed by the person who bought the car from Kohli. The impounded car was flood damaged during heavy rains and legend has it that it even floated from one end of the ground to another.

These cars belonged to Kerala-based businessman Mohammad Nisham, and each car is linked to a story that is more incriminating than the last. With the Gallardo, Nisham attempted to run down a Bangalore resident who complained about the loud noise from the Lamborghini's regular 3am runs. The Bangalore cops seized the car in 2015 as a result. In 2020, the Gallardo was seized once again for a fake registration number. Nisham was also arrested due to a viral video that showed he let his 9-year old son drive the Ferrari 430 with his 5-year old son riding shotgun, in Thrissur, Kerala. When it comes to the Rolls, Nisham was caught driving the Ghost drunk, and when the woman officer tried to take the keys, he reportedly locked her inside the vehicle. Lastly, Nisham is currently facing a life sentence in jail after he murdered a security guard of his housing complex by repeatedly ramming his Hummer H2 into the guard for failing to open the gate in time. This was after Nisham returned from a night out, once again, intoxicated.

From the above lot, I believe the Bentley Continental GT Supersports is now back on road.

Here are 2 Bentley's _ Arnage R and Continental Flying Spur belonging to the DC group probably still lying at the Mumbai Customs office. Pic from the https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/super...-india-54.html (Pics: Imports gathering dust in India)

I believe the 575M belonged to the collector from Day 1. He imported it under EPCG and registered it as a taxi. When the car came under the scanner he paid the duties and re-regd it in KA.

These cars definitely deserve a mention here.

All of these cars are rotting away at a disputed property in Gurgaon. I don't have more details, will get them soon. Some of them seem to be slightly modern cars. Members, please help in identifying the models.

Yes the black Bentley Continental Supersports is now back to its glory.

Here's a recent pic of the same car. Due credits to the original photographer.

Does anyone know what happened to the cars owned by the DC group?

The dark blue (?) sports car is a Porsche 944. The White sedan is a BMW 5-series E34 generation. The red coupe is a Honda CRX - back bumper is not original.

Correct, lets' be factual, the Ferrari was imported by the Surya Samudra Hotel, owned by Rajeev Chandrashekhar. I have seen him with this car. The DRI impounded the car in Bangalore. I believe that it was parked in the Income Tax office with one of his staff keeping an eye on it. All duties and penalties were paid swiftly, I guess!

EDIT: All details are here

So what happens to these cars?
Is there an auction or any way to buy them? Not that it would make sense looking at the condition of many of these cars, but out of curiosity.

I remember the same pictures of the yellow board Ferrari being forwarded as an email before the Whatsapp era wherein it was mentioned that it was the only Ferrari taxi in India, which became a topic to have a conversation on back then.

I am curious as to why no one tries to acquire these forgotten gems. Apart from the ones that are impounded why no one restores the abandoned ones, considering their condition they won't be too pricey but someone experienced can truly turn these cars to their former glory. Is the paperwork too tedious?
Because what I have learned in my experience is that any car can be restored as long as the chassis is not rotted.

Isn't this declared as a criminal offence yet? Such people should really be put behind bars and punished heavily!!

Jokes apart, what on earth owners of such a beautiful cars behave like this? I mean they are one of the luckiest people on earth to own such wonderful machines and they don't realize the value of it. Not sure why these cars are not sold in time so that at least other lovers could take care of them?

To most of us this might be the most painful page in the forum. To look at those beautiful machines in such horrible condition.

Can't there be a way where these vehicles are auctioned or sold at discounted prices so that a legitimate car lover can own the same and take good care of these ?

Sorry state of these cars, absolutely painful to watch.
Just goes to show that having a load of wealth doesn’t always translate to increased civic sense!
