The most recognizable face (and voice) of Bollywood, clearly has a penchant for cars too. Amitabh Bachchan owns a wide variety of cars ranging from sports cars to luxury cars and even a few high-performance SUVs. His car collection shows that not only is he passionate about cars, but he loves to drive them too. He is often seen in the driver's seat of many of these cars, including the Mini Cooper and the Cayman.

The following list includes cars owned not just by Amitabh Bachchan, but also his son Abhishek Bachchan.

Range Rover Autobiography LWB

'Big B' has had a few Range Rovers in his garage and he even gifted an older one to his make-up artist's wife. This Autobiography LWB variant is the latest one in the garage.

Mercedes S-Class

As expected, the Bachchans have had various versions of the S-Class in their garage over time. This S450 variant is the latest one and was delivered just after the first lockdown in 2020. There is also a S350d in the garage.

Mercedes S600

Of all the S-Classes owned by the Bachchan family, this one needs a special mention. It is an S600 variant powered by a V12 engine.

Mini Cooper S

They say that every petrolhead should own or experience a Mini Cooper at least once in their lives. This is the second-generation of the modern Mini hatch that is known for its go kart-like handling.

Big B cleared up some misconceptions about the Mini in a Facebook post of his:


Mercedes SL-Class

This car has hardly been seen out and about. Reports say that this is one of Amitabh's favourite Mercs and that this is the SL600 variant, which means it houses a V12 engine under that long hood.

Bentley Continental GT

Both Amitabh and Abhishek own a Continental GT. It's a relatively popular choice with other Bollywood celebrities too.

Maybach S-Class

The pinnacle of luxury, this is said to be the S500 variant. I do like the dark blue shade on the car.

Mercedes V-Class

The V-Class is fast becoming one of the most popular vans among the rich & famous thanks to its huge space, comfort and brand image.

Mercedes-AMG GL63

The top of the line, most powerful GL-Class. This V8-powered SUV is said to be owned by Abhishek Bachchan.

Toyota Land Cruiser

One of the most reliable off-roaders money can buy! You can see the stress-free joy of Toyota ownership on their faces. Unfortunately the SUV has been discontinued in India.

Lexus LX570

The luxurious variant of the reliable Toyota Land Cruiser. It gets a 5.7L V8 engine and full-time four-wheel drive.

Toyota Innova Crysta

Big B got this car delivered as soon as the Innova Crysta facelift was launched. This is said to be the GX variant and who are we kidding, it is most probably used by his bodyguards.

Ford Prefect

Amitabh Bachchan was gifted this 1950s vintage Ford by a friend. He has often said that the Ford Prefect was his family's first car and the car he received is almost an exact replica of it.

Audi A8L

Abhishek got this customised white A8L back in 2012. It has a 4.2L V8 diesel engine.

Mercedes-Benz GLS

One of the recent acquisitions to the garage. This is the latest third-gen GLS which was launched in June 2020.

Lamborghini Murcielago

Abhishek Bachchan had a Lamborghini Murcielago finished in Pearl White and it rode on black alloy wheels. Unfortunately, after he sold it, the car met with an accident in Delhi and has since been abandoned.

Through a tweet, Big B mentioned that he had earlier owned other Lamborghinis like the Gallardo, Diablo and even the Countach (outside India). These have all been sold.


Rolls-Royce Phantom

Bachchan received this car as a gift! This Phantom has a golden Spirit of Ecstasy and plaque that says that it has been specially built for Amitabh Bachchan. The car has since been sold and it now shares a garage with a Ghost.

Porsche Cayman

Looks like the Bachchans love cars that are known for their handling characteristics. This is the 987 Cayman. The car was listed on sale in September 2020 with 3,700 km on the do.

Toyota Camry

Big B had an old Camry with him. I also came across a picture of him taking delivery of a Camry Hybrid. Unsure if he still has the car now.

BMW X5 and Mercedes E-Class

Some of the other cars in his garage that he used regularly include a BMW X5 and a Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

I remember one of Bachchan's Range Rovers was listed on the Team-BHP Classifieds about 3 years back by a dealer.

Of course the fact that it once belonged to Big B was touted as a major selling point

Seemed to be in good enough exterior condition, and had 35k on the ODO.

The Bollywood premium had the price set at 24 lakhs.

Classy gentleman, classy garage . The icon has some taste in cars (heck, he's owned a Countach!!!) and sure loves the colour white. His automotive choices portray a great mix of practicality & fun-to-drive models. His cars, homes, attire & the way he carries himself scream TASTE (much like Mallya (Vijay Mallya's erstwhile car collection)).

In fact, even if you see his older movies, you will see some fab rides being used. Knowing how the man lives it up, I would like to believe he influenced the car choices:

I think Toyotas/Lexus and Mercs rule the garage on a majority. I remember seeing this white Camry during Rishi Kapoor's funeral in which Abhishek Bachan was seen travelling in. Looks like the 3 most popular rides in their garage will have to be the S-Class, Land Cruiser & Camry. Gets a new one with every generation Any idea about the rides Mr. Bachan had before the 2000's.

I believe he has sold the red Land Cruiser V8. I saw it with a used car dealer in Pune a few years ago. It was very low run and going for quite a steal too (considering the prices other older LCV8s are demanding these days ), but then someone known to Big B ended up contacting the dealer (through Big B himself), and bought the car for the same price Big B sold it to the dealer to, or very little more.

Hey GTO, thanks for sharing this source, because the author behind this article is yours truly. I worked for this organization back in 2019 and as I am huge Big B fan as well as of cars, I was given to opportunity to write this article.

Of all the sweet cars he has driven in movies, the Lincoln Continental Town Car Mark V remains my all-time favorite. What a classy ride for a classy man.

I believe out of all the cars mentioned above the garage has evolved and presently they own 2 S Classes which are both white, 1 GLS in silver or white which is pictured above, not sure about the V Class, the Toyota Innova, the Lexus LX is there, the Range Rover is there in white, not sure about the old Ford Prefect which he was gifted, and maybe theyve added the new Camry Hybrid to their range.

I believe they keep shuffling the cars so now there are no sports cars, or exotic cars as they are difficult to drive in Mumbai.

If I recall; this RR Phantom was gifted by famous producer director Mr. Vidhu Vinod Chopra to Mr. Bachchan for his role in the movie Eklavya.

This particular Bentley had a lot of controversy as it was supposed to be have been been gifted by Big B to Junior B for his 31st birthday, but was in fact imported by air from London by the now late Amar Singh who was in good terms with the family back then. He had paid custom duty of around 85 lakhs and declared the value of the car at 1.76 crores back then.

As per the popular belief, He actually asked his acquaintances to park their cars on his properties in late 90s as he had to sell his valuable possessions due to ABCL debacle.

Really happy to see someone bounce back from ashes!

It is said that he didn’t file for bankruptcy and eventually paid off his debts. Had it happened with someone overseas, 90% of them would have mentally collapsed (Especially in powder rich countries). Kudos to the rich Indian culture and values!
