I thought the magic body control worked with use of radars, which in India I believe are not legal for civilian vehicles.

So how come it's added in this car??

Mercedes Benz has tweaked the Magic Body Control.
Previously it took inputs from 3 sources - stereo mounted cameras on the windshield, radar sensors, and GPS navigation maps for the road terrain.
Now it will just use Stereo mounted camera. No Radar. No Map

Interesting, did not know they had tweaked this, thanks for sharing the info. Where did you read this?
MBIL ought to give this feature on the CKD S-class considering the vast price premium the S commands over the XJ and 7 currently, almost 20-30 Lakhs more.

My friend who is buying this car was conveyed this message from the MB India officials and he passed on the information to me.

I wonder how effective this would be since I've my serious doubts that the camera would be sufficient

Are they offering this in the new s too?

I was waiting for someone to put this up here. I never knew Kolkata had so many Supercars!! What a sight it would have been, I missed it.

Lets hope for the best. Once the car lands, I will post in a detailed review on the same.
Nope, not on the sedan yet.

Interesting!

An engineer who worked on the system had told me the following at the time of the review:
Despite the system not actively using radar to scan the road, it does constantly use the radar to calibrate the stereo cameras. The stereo cameras are very sensitive to even a few degrees of temperature change, and hence this constant cross-checking is a requirement.

Wonder how they maintain the accuracy now? Perhaps a direct correlation to temperature? It will be less accurate, but hey, at least we get it!

Just spotted Fiat Punto 2015 with Abarth vinyls all over the body.
Was unable to click a picture.

Can someone confirm this?

Yes, Rehaan. Definitely.

My friend's S63 Coupe should be landing in August - September being the first in India. I will get him to share a nice review of the the car and the various electronic features once it lands. Hope that will help everybody.

//M, that is a Carrera S btw. Not just a Carrera. If i am not wrong, the same picture has been shared a few pages back by me.

The superleggara has been sold a while back. The Noctis would also be going to a new home soon.
