As far as my knowledge goes it called The 360 Modena spider, but since we like cutting down names it is also called the 360 Spider in short. If you remove the spider and only call it the Modena it refers to the Hardtop.

Aniguchisan it is a convertible not a rag top. Rag top means only the center is a convertible while it still has the door frames and part of the roof intact.

Pune is another car with NL reg, this one in cal is a Mumbai car with HR reg I recall first imported in 2002/3 by the mumbai music company owner know as "Spiderman" wonder why they call him that! He used to drive her past carter road followed by a posse of armed guards in a junk esteem. Funny thing was all he did was rev her for a few meters then wait for the esteem to catch up and next thing you know up comes a speedbraker which he needs to go cross on this was repeated several times going roudn and round carter. I think the car was more to show off rather than to really enjoy its true potential on say the expressway. It was a hilarous site. Pune car mostly stays hidden due to obvious reasons.

Zibby this 360 in Kolkata is the HR reg one bought from Delhi. The pune car is the NL reg one.

Canonball i do remember the sites even on Marine drive with the then owner raceing honda's and esteems with the 360. He is known as spiderman cause most of his cars have been convertibles and since both the ferrari's he owned were spiders hence the name. 355 spider and 360 spider.

It is DL registered.I have seen it.Guy also has a black WB registered F430

We were refering to the first owner of the car. He had the HR registered no. The second owner had it transferred to his delhi address hence DL now, he also has a house in Kolkata and hence the F430 in WB plates.

Yes, I guess my colloquialism got the best of me. It's just a very lethargic approach to how I refer to convertibles, although technically incorrect. Besides, I loathe the 360 after it replaced what was one of the finest automobiles of our time. Hope the new McLaren doesn't throw dog poop on the face of the F1!

Was reading an article today that said the new mclaren looks similar to a 430, the f1 was a class apart, way ahead of its times.If they beat it, it would be like sachin scoring in every match. But i wish they do better

In an article in todays Mint newspaper, OSL Prestige the BMW dealers of Kolkata said the between May and December they had managed to sell 70 cars.It was higher than their expected 50 cars target.
This number seems pretty good and is same as the 100 odd cars which mercedes sells.

Well I'm not into import sighting particularly, but this morning I experienced something unreal (considering the city is Kolkata)! It was about 9.45 in the morning, I was late for office and stuck in a signal on EM Byepass on my way to office. There was a slight drizzle outside. Suddenly, I look around me, and what do I see?

Just ahead of me was a current gen black BMW 730Ld, ahead of it was a silver Mercedes C230. To my left was a silver BMW 525d. A few lines back was another black (previous gen) BMW 740i, which had been accompanying me from Karunamoyee.

3 BMWs and a Merc stuck in the same signal! All 4 cars accompanied me till Park Circus, and it was like being stuck in a German convoy.

The city is going places, I tell you. So much for communism!

I saw the same fleet of cars together,last year ..I was coming from Hyatt when I saw them and then, they together disappeared near the Zeeshan Restaurant crossing... 3 bmw and 2 merc,together...what a sight


i saw 15-20 bmw cars at the basement parking of silver spring..but then bmw has a showroom on the ground floor and all these 15 cars were unreg ones... the convertible was looking out of the world in white...

As for the BMWs in the Silver Springs basement, those are just stock cars of the OSL BMW showroom parked. I see them whenever I go to dine at Mainland China/Sigri. The white convertible you're talking about is an M6 convertible I think.
