Porsche has delivered three 911s finished in special exterior colours in India.

The sports car maker recently delivered two 911 Carrera S Coupe models - one in Chandigarh finished in Lava Orange and another to a customer in Ahmedabad in GT Silver Metallic paint scheme. The third model was a Racing Yellow 911 Carrera S Cabriolet with red interiors, which was handed over to a customer in Delhi.

Porsche will deliver 20 unique coloured cars to customers this year. Some of these include India's first Mamba Green Panamera, Carmine Red Cayenne Coupe and a Cashmere Beige Cayenne.

Custom Painted? These colors are apart of Porsche's standard palette offering and I do not see how are these 'custom' or special. Lovely cars in lovely shades, nonetheless. But unless it is a Porsche Paint to Sample a.k.a PTS car, don't think it advocates a dedicated thread. Just my two cents.

You are right. These are paid colour options instead of the free colours from the standard palette. Not PTS/custom paint.

Guess just a 911 delivery happening in India is such a rare event that they want it to get as much PR as they can. Hence tom toming the colour scheme. In an unfortunately apt metaphor for India, they’d rather make a fuss about the paint and not mention the engine. In a 911.

Well said, truth is that Porsche has nil - zilch allocations for Turbo- S models for our market for 2021 and at least mid of 2022. Despite pricing at 3 or 4 X of overseas prices, they are not even bothered to take orders from our market. Most of the sales in 911 will be in base or S. Guess, they are contending with whatever spare they have from global production for what must be most expensive market for Porsche anywhere worldwide.

One can walk to a Lamborghini showroom and get a new Huracan on the same day, and more in pipeline, but Porsche will hardly carry any inventories.

And yes, as pointed out, thread title needs to be amended or merged with any existing threads. Nothing special here, nice colors though

It is good to see some vibrant colours after so long. Bhpian JayDev and I went to the Kochi showroom to see these cars and even made a small video in our channel while we were there.

Porsches are anyways so rare and top it up with a few lacs for a custom paint.

Astronomical prices for an amazing machine. Stuff of dreams.

Hopefully some day it will be little more affordable and we can see many more mamba greens driving around in India.

The yellow on red looks terrible, ketchup on fries

Reminiscent of the McDonald’s colour scheme

Hi @vivek
Those bright and vibrant colors look amazing on these Porsches.
I have been following your channel "Talking cars" for some time

Only two days back I was helping a friend get an allocation for a turbo S and almost all dealers said that the earliest they could do was Mid 2022. It is surprising as the turbo S is a regular production car and yet no build slots are available in India. Only 3 992 turbo S have been imported so far, in stark contrast to the 991 turbo S which are aplenty.
They sold two decuple 991 GT3 and I don't think even half that number will make it to India in the 992 generation. Porsche has some fantastic cars, a little change in the way their India NSC functions can actually do wonders.

Have any of the 911 Targa heritage edition cars come to India? That’s a real beauty

Could this be a marketing exercise for Porsche to want to, more of its customers using these extra paid services!!

Re: Three Porsche 911s in special colours delivered in India

Come on guys, a brand obviously has PR people that have nothing better to do but this just doesn't deserve to be covered on Team bhp. Neither for thread, nor for news.

One of the 3 colors is silver, for God's sake. Not an unusual color for any car.
And even the other colors as others have pointed out are in the usual options list and not PTS.

I would suggest the mods to close this thread

I agree.

The navy blue 911 carrera S in the pics above belongs to a close friend who just took delivery. I was shocked to learn that they are only providing a 2 year warranty! The extended warranty packs are not cheap either, works out to nearly 2L for everyone additional year.
The least they should do is provide a 4 year warranty as standard in this price range.
