Mercedes G-Wagens spotted in Mumbai

Hey spotted this G55 in bandra outside Taj Lands End. It was dubai registered.

that must be the only g55 in India. but i'm not sure if it is a real g55. it looks more like a 500. it doesn't have the wide body wheel arches and exhausts aren't popping out from the sides either. It's a 500.

Agreed, not a G55. Just not AMG enough to cut it.

Definitely not G55, but aren't Dubai reg. vehicles LHD. Unless it is an embassy vehicle, how do they import them ?

Wow...G-wagon...my favorite...but its sure that its not AMG version...those alloys part of special package in normal G-class...anyway its a great all rounder...

it seems like it may be an embassy vehicle or might be an official vehicle from Dubai ruler...cos he has a huge fleet of G-class...has he scheduled a visit to Mumbai?..

Or it might be a shor-time import for 6 months (i'm forgot wat its called)..its like import any car from abroad for a period of not more than 6months & should be taken back...one of my fren's good fren is importing a H3 in that scheme...

Its long since I'm searching for a used one for me...so far not got any...

I've always been a fan of the G-wagen especially in AMG form in Black with tinted windows! Looks absolutely like a Mob Boss's ride!

this car is deffinately not a G55 it is a G500 with the luxury package. there is a similar one in delhi in the same colour saw it last evening. the car seems to belong to the counsulate as it is a LHD and on dubai plates.

Hanmust you are not looking in the right places for the car. there was a 1998/99 G wagon for sale in bombay maroon colour.
it is called CARNET this is when the car is brought into the country for a limited period on a bond.

guys a couple of years ago i very distinctly remember seeing a white totalled G at shivaji park.

Dude, I knew about the car, it was 300 turbo Diesel, embassy owned, with air-suspension & was quoting around Rs.17lacs...I bided for my friend, he has an older version which he'll sell if he gets a newer one, that would suite my budget too...

If anyone has got any new G-for sale pls do inform me...

besides the counsulate car there was a G wagon privately owned maroon coloured i think the car had got repainted so i dont remember the exact colour. the guys were asking for 9 at the time. it belonged to the owners of a hotel. i do not like the shape of the G wagon so i did not buy it.

Wow that is gorgeous, The G55 is my absolute dream car. I have been looking for one forever, well a regular G that is.

Saw this black G55 twice, once this past Sunday at shivaji park, the car had a DD number and was driven by a fairly (very lucky) young guy, there was a sikh guy in the passenger seat (very lucky also). Saw a Black G, not sure if it was the same one a few weeks ago at pedder road right across from the kundanmal petrol pump, was driving in the opposite direction both times, so i could not click pictures.
