The new face lifted versions are commonly now called 997.2 or IInd Gen of 997 series . I meant that why would the showroom import pre face lift models?

I remember reading somewhere on this thread that it was just a shell.

Sorry for the late entry - The Carrera GT was not just a body shell... Its an actual car which is from Porsche's german museum.. The 911 in the showroom is a pre-owned car with just 1300kms on the clock and we are not selling any 2008 model 911 anymore since long now.
2009 Boxster S & Cayman S coming soon.

Not sure whether this is the right thread, but just received info that the Porsche Cayenne Diesel has been made available in India. Deliveries start in August, price starts at Rs. 64.95L plus options.

See a best seller in it, Kerala might get a number of these. Kudos to Porsche for this wise move!

BTW, prices in the UK start at RS. 25L excluding 15% VAT.

We have been calling the Cayenne a supercar SUV combo and they have come up with a diesel!
Good move nonetheless considering the target markets.

@Jayabusa: Diesels are extremely FTD. German diesels have a charm of their own and are beautiful in terms of performance. We have a E270CDi simply because it is more fun to drive than the petrol.
Personally I like the idea of the Cayenne Diesel.

The Cayenne petrol was easily the best selling petrol SUV in the segment,
so its (diesel) only going to better the Pie of the market
