Ferrari has launched the convertible version of the 296 GTB hybrid sports car in India. The 296 GTS is available at a starting price of Rs 6.24 crore (ex-showroom).



The Ferrari 296 GTS uses the same V6 hybrid powertrain as the coupe. It is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine that produces 645 BHP and is paired with an electric motor, boosting its power output to 819 BHP and 740 Nm. The hybrid powertrain sends power to the rear axle via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.



Ferrari claims the 296 GTS will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 330 km/h. Interestingly, the performance figures are similar to that of the coupe, even though the GTS weighs 70 kg more.

In terms of styling, the 296 GTS gets a retractable metal top that can open or close in 14 seconds at speeds of up to 45 km/h. The GTS is characterized by dual buttresses with an adjustable windscreen in the middle that is said to reduce wind noise inside the cabin when the roof is down.
