We were on our way to fill fuel when far away we seen this ver low black sportscar waiting at a signal. It was easily recognised as a Mercedes due to a big logo in the cener. When we came close, we noticed the huge wheels, and the ultra-low front skirts. Our first impressions was that it was a Brabus SLK, but then on seeing the badge behind we realised it was a Fab-Design. The car had scissor doors and an amazing kit, 19-in ultra low profile tyres. I guess the suspension was also lowered cos I couldnt even put a finger between the tyre and the wheelarch. The owner was very kind enough to open the top and let us have a few pics. Will be posting some on-the-road pics. Sadly cant post other pics since they're taken in a private property.

Here's a pic from the net. Actual pics coming soon.

Here it is. The on road pics haven't come out well.

looks great except for the front badge which has been covered.

But thats not the case in this car. This car has the normal front logo as a SLK.

I second akshay, the silver one looks ahh mmmm:Frustrati

I agree too, the silver looks quite wierd. But this black one is just the opposite.

Posted some more pics here. Do check them out.
FAB DESIGN Roadster Slide-Wings @ AutoFocus

Too good Gordon..The kit is too angular, just perfect according to my taste.

Niki

we have to remember even fab design has got variations the black one as far as i can make out is either a usual slk just with the basic kit since u dont see to many slk280 fabs or probably the most basic fab design available while the silver one is well probably either the or one of the top of the range models, not sure im correct i am basing my analysis on the basis of cousins very internship at the mercedes dealership when i would hang out there

The kit is very very good looking. But its seriously impractical! You can't take that poor thing on the smallest of speed breakers or potholes also. It is bound to scrape!

Performance
Don't know if this car has some performance tuning done to it or not. FAB Design provides performance modifications too. The silver one featured on their website produces around 480bhp. Its probably the SLK 500.

This is what their website claims:

gordon did the owner show you the scissor doors or you going by the FAB design badgeing and assumeing it has scissor doors  .
the kit on the car looks very basic and nothing impracticle. you can increase the height on the slk if i believe right. the SL has it. there is a certain film stars SL 500 that has bigger wheels 20 or 21 inches if i remember right and there was absolutely no space between the tyre and the fender. had seen the car at autohanger workshop in bombay.
can we order a FAB design from the showroom itself or do we have to get it done ourselves.

nice, which camera are you using? its crystal clear :)

That is one holy sweet SLK....good find Gordy! The new SLK is surprisingly competent, and not like the "sissy" previous generation.

Just one question : He spent all that money and still went for a 280? Why not a 350 (atleast)?

The car does have scissor doors. When the owner stopped and got out, I seen them. Unfortunately, I was so mesmerized by the car while taking pics that I forgot to ask him to open the doors for snaps.

Yup, I thought it'd be a 500 at first. Lets reason it out. Whether its a 200 or a 500, with that kit, he wouldn't be able to explore that power here for sure. The 280 produces 228bhp, while the 350 produces 268bhp.

He said he got the kit from Germany itself.
