please keep the pix coming in to see the progress. Is the pic the G's current state? or have things progressed beyond this?

No it's not the current state, things have improved! Will keep updated! :)
Thanks all the friends who suggested various colours, but there was always a colour in my mind & it was black; MATT BLACK. :D
Here is the second teaser when it was painted with primer the initial coat! More photos to follow! ;)
Sorry for poor photos.
may i suggest you change those foglamps to sleeker looking ones? or transparent coloured ones? and it looks hot. i hope you are changing the rims.
WOOHOOO!!!! SEE, There are more people on the Forum who like Matt Black!! :D:D And everyone was saying its only me!!
wow the matt black will look so good on the G-Wagon.get a nice set of alloys and ur done. This is going to be one of the coolest jeeps in the country.Anyways what engine does it run on?
Would it be a good idea to strip the car of its lights and bumpers and all trim before doing such a comprehensive colour change ?
I think the finish may not be as good as the original if such shortcuts happen as flashes of white will be seen in the long term
matt black looks awesome we had once done a sierra with matt black only problem the interiors heat up to unbearable levels and takes ages to cool down keep that in mind.
also the vehicle looks extremely dull if you are not able to give it a wash everyday.

It's already thrown away! Planning to fit a 6" Hella, I will try it at Blore when I go this week. No stock in Calicut!

Have you put your profile name after it? SierraKamat? I'll be washing the car daily! Will keep ur suggession in mind, but I beleive the a/c is good enough to with stand it!
I have never been a fan of Geländewagens but after following this thread, I must confess I have become a big fan of it. Your G looks absolutely stunning with the Matte Black paint and will surely stand out from other Jeeps and Hummers of Calicut :thumbs up. I too feel that a nice set of alloys will make it far more appealing. More pics please once you are done with the paint please:
Hani Matt black looks great now hope you are getting the AMG style 5 spoke black wheels or Brabus Black wheels with All terrain tyres for the car. It would look awsome. Since you removed the rubbers are they good enough for the car or you have to order new ones. Over time they do get cracked and hard. Cant wait for this baby to get ready. All the best:thumbs up.
