Have been offered a 1989 Silver Spur - looks like in immaculate condition. The car is still with the first owner (at least that's what has been told). The "informant" has asked for an offer as he was not entirely sure about what the price the owner is expecting.

What should be the fair price of the car?

This just seems slightly off, in that the owner who wants to sell has no price in mind. But clearly they have value attached to it in intangible form of memories etc.

I agree with the advice given by others, that you need to inspect the car and get it checked before even offering a penny for it. Any independent garage which restores cars from the 1980s and earlier would be the go to for this. Allan Almeida is a well known name and he probably would even know the history of the car, so I would encourage you to get in touch with him via Instagram (if needed).

All cars of a certain age are bound to have isssues but British cars have a penchant for being shoddy in some cases more so than others. Proceed with caution.
