Hi All,

Please find below the pic of an Audi 80 1.6ltr TD.
I am planning to pick this up for Rs. 150000/-
Please provide your valuable inputs.

Looks good. Though i belive it can be had for MUCH less.

Elito

Is this owned by an elderly sardar who makes you laugh all the time?

Remember it is an old car and parts will be difficult

I spoke to my regular mechanic who has serviced this for quite some time now.
He says, parts easily available in Bombay and at the worst, I may have to wait for 3-4 days if any new parts are required.

A bit more on the car:
It was owned by an ex-Army Capt. who imported the same in 1985 from UK.
The paint is the original paint of the car.
For 20 odd years he has driven it only from Indranagar (defense colony) to golf course (those from bangalore would know the distance) and back.
The car has done only 105000 kms and the suspension was just done up.

It is the same car. The army cap't is a sardar who keeps us in peals of laughter with his jokes while waiting to tee off. Call it 2 km each way. That means the car never warms up!

Would you not recommend the car in that case?
Since you know the owner, please let me know if I am getting a raw deal?
Also, am I being taken for a literal ride by my regular mechanic and the owner in terms of heavy maintenance or even the price quoted?

I note from ebay, you bought the car and now are selling it!
