The answer to the last question hugely depends on who organizes the event. If a brand like autocar is invoved and homraz who is well connected in the south, i guess should not be much of a problem.

But how many owners will be willing to display their imports?

Very rightly said. And, you left out driver Armaan Ebrahim and auto companies Mitsubishi, TVS Group, Ashok Leyland, Renault-Nissan, TAFE Tractors, Daimler Trucks, MRF and Michelin to name a few. No shortage of participants or sponsors as far as i'm concerned. All is needed is an events planner to put it all together.The cars are there.

That question is most important. Rest assured the Phantoms and tthe Bentley's won't turn up. Nor will the S Classes or 7 series.

You'll probably get two or three cars max from the Italians. I'm sure mlcarrera will be able to mobilise his Porsche community. Hummer and Rovers shouldn't be too hard either..

strange , suddenly there are 2 650i's which are being spotted in B'lore and Chennai as well.
the Maroon 650i was spotted by me in b'lore a few weeks back.Number being 7777.

Hey guys, I spotted a nice set of cars this weekend. A black Cayenne GTS in Adyar, a white BMW Z3 and a Land Rover Defender on Boat club road.

@nickatnite - I forgot Armaan Ebrahim, a Anwar Ebrahim kept hitting my mind but I knew he wasn't the guy...

and not to forget Lord Swraj Paul's Caparo, the company that makes the Caparo T1, they have a huge spread in Sriperumbudur...

@f450 - Atleast 1 Bentley Arnage and 1 Rolls Royce alongwith a Rangie if CSK had won the IPL

@andre1774 - I've seen this 650i on ECR too, that makes it 6 known 650is in Chennai, including 2 convertible versions...

These cars are a part of the India Cements (owners of CSK) garage; after seeing the owner's enthusiasm on screen during the semifinal, i am sure he would have loved to display his prized cars... Its always a treat to watch their Rangie or TLC with the signature number on his daily rounds in the city... I have seen their Phantom and Arnage just once on the road, posted a few pics of the Arnage earlier on this thread...
