Re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

Early Jan I Spotted a white gallardo spyder with MH plates on Chamiers road signal next to Sheraton park, couldnt take a snap as traffic started moving.

Since this signal is super car territory, I was hoping to sight it again but without any luck.

This car is seen most of the time in the Park Sheraton portico. Don't miss it... photos on previous pages of this thread too...

That shade is the British Racing Green. Chennai has an XF and a Freelander in the same shade too.

I saw this Freelander last week in Nungambakkam, near Taj Coromandel. Boy, it looked gorgeous in that shade. If I recall correctly, it had a lot of extra exterior options on it, and was running temporary plates.

Re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

Thats a fantastic catch , which garage is that? Lots of high end cars and never thought there were american muscle cars in Chennai, as far as I knew there was only a red mustang, probably a early 70's model.

That would be Electra Automotive . I saw the Charger along with a red Turbo Supra and a black Cayenne GTS when I'd gone there to meet the owner a couple of weeks back. Didn't take pictures though .

Re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

Electra Automotive Garage on OMR, is the best in madras for servicing of foreign imports, i regularly send my Merc E220 there.
They also had on sale last year a Nissan GTR, earlier gen. check out the pics, its a beast,
Checked on price, the car's owner wanted Rs.40 Lakhs for it, found it steep and so didn't go for it.

Re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

Spotted a very nice shade of Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 at the Vadapalani Signal and the 007 Aston Martin Rapide (OMG, jazzed up with glittering after market blue LEDs).

Re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

Those LEDs looks so cheesy and unfitting for such a classic car like the Aston Martin. What a waste.

I can see the owner sitting there in that pic. I knew him very well when I lived in Madras but haven't seen him for more than a decade now. Lost touch completely.
There used to be two mechanics, Chickey and Vernon - they were brothers. Nice helpful blokes. Are they still lurking about at Electra?

Re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

Wow... What's that doing here?

"that" being a Rover 2000 (series --- could have been a different model) in a R A Puram back street. I saw it coming from right and then it crossed behind me, so was not able to get much detail; could not even read the badges.

A beautiful car. It was one of my dream cars back in the day (err, most of life, actually!) when I could not afford a car at all.

Must surely have been a restoration project: Anybody know about it?

Are you talking about the Rover 2000's P4) 1963-1976 or the SD1 which were also assembled here with a wheezy engine inside?
