Its only psychological, no diff in comfort or materials. The only diff is probably sports seats. GT-R will be well above the M3 in all areas for sure.

Definitely not psychological,1Day. The testing factor being the 'wonderful' roads in Houston. Hands down, the ride in the M3 was much better than that in the other car.
Agreed, the GT-R might have something totally different to offer, with respect to the suspension & the ride quality.

Shouldn't M3 be more stiffer than 330Ci?
Btw, GTR has different suspension settings for different modes of ride.

The guy who's M3 I took a spin in,said that BMW usually makes the suspension stiffer, but given that the road conditions keep changing all the time,a medium level is chosen that gives a pretty comfortable ride. The 330ci that another friend had, felt quite different.

I like the concept of different settings for different modes of driving..!

Most sport exotics have it, the new M5, X5 and even M3 has it I guess. M5 has 5 different suspension settings. Mostly they stiffen the springs and lower the car for spirited driving and soften them for street rides. The e46 M3 does have the option
to change suspension settings as far as I know and hence it should be stiffer than a plain vanilla 330Ci.

My 2 np.

last time I checked this thread is about the M3 that Navnit Motors has, and not about vettes et al!
ANYWAY the correct car to compare this with is the current gen RS4 [which I have driven, owned by a friend right here in mumbai! V8 and bloody powerful]

Well mav like I said the other day, beautiful car!!! I saw it rev a bit, but the dude driving was a little scared, he even stalled it 2 times before exiting the gate

There were also 2 M5s there the other day, amongst all the other beautiful cars.
Mav I need a TD when i drop by next

Looks nice in grey, but I prefer Karl's White M3. Gives it a more menacing look as if to say, "Bring it on!!"

1Day, let me just say that I have owned a stock 325i and I now own an E92 M3 with EDC. Let me assure you that the ride on the M3 with dampers set to comfort mode is very much better than the ride on the 325i. This is with 18" wheels on the M3 compared to standard 17" wheels on the 325i. So it's not psychological, it's a fact that the EDC equipped M3s are more "comfortable" for daily use, if you want it to be. As for the materials, they ARE different. The leather on the M3's sports seats is a much softer, nicer feeling leather than the leather on the 325i. My car's dash is also covered in carbon-fibre look leather, so once again, it's not psychological, there ARE differences. I've not driven a GTR, so I will not make any comments about it, but I am pretty sure that the ride on the GTR with it's standard 20" rims will be stiffer than the ride on my M3 in comfort mode.

If you set the dampers to sport mode the M3 will stiffen up and ride much firmer than the 330i / E92 330. On normal the ride is adaptive and on comfort the M3 will be softer.

@Maverick: Did that car not come with the M Drive manager and the extended leather option? I noticed that the M button was missing on the steering wheel!
