I wonder whether this thread is for posting about Mr.Ratan Tata's cars or for glorifying him.

@ Jayabusa - Yes, in Mumbai. It was in association with PCRA and WIAA for fuel conservation. Ratan Tata was not a part of it. I spotted him on the road.

Mr.Tata is not known to waste his money and is a sensible buyer. The colour mentioned by Marcus is of the Quattroporte that he owns. He has the California to enjoy the coupe form and would not get the same car in coupe (engines are the same). He knows his cars and knows exactly what he wants. I had a picture of him driving the Quattroporte with the 360 following him but cannot seem to find it.

To reduce the confusion i shall try and find out if a GT has been added to the garage.

Mr.Tata is not even a good competitor considering Mallya's collection!!

Mallya is a collector, whereas these are Mr.Ratan Tata's regular use cars, so what's the point in comparing the two garages?

Hmm yeah I saw that article on the website. And it shows his LHD California perfectly registered as normal... MH 01 AL 111.

VJM is a collector but those cars are seperate from the ones he uses regularly. Mr.Tata also is a collector in his own right and does not use these fancy cars on a daily bases. So comparing the two tycoons garages is ok. He also has a 1947 buick eight convertible.

In the collector side Mallya beat him but in the current lot they would be tied. If you say boring garage then VJM, exciting then Mr.Tata.

I was told by a friend who work with Merc that Mr.Tata recently added a new Merc S600 (FL, black) to his fleet. Any news or update on that?

Yes Hormaz is the co passenger with Mr.Tata. This is believe is when they were doing the Autocar interview.

Mr.Tata's Mercedes SL500 which is a 2004 model has come for service and has done 2,300 kms. I was speaking to the Chief Mechanic who comes down from Pune to overlook his Mercedes's (he is also looking into my ML) and he mentioned that Mr.Tata hardly uses his cars. His most used car is his W211 E 270 cdi and previously was his W124 E220.

Hanmust he has not bought the w221 S600,he has the S350.
