Pics & Video: Aston Martin DB-R9 at event in Mumbai

Yesterday evening while driving along Marine Drive everything seemed usual until i was closing hotel intercontinental. I saw a huge crowd avec a few cops and assumed theres a fight going on from far so i was quite excited and increased my speed a bit like a curious spectator. The signal turned red and exactly in front of the spot i stopped. ANd there!!! An Aston Martin DB9 GT-R (im not sure guys but its an aston for sure). The car looked killer and its stance seemed to tell me," hey leave your zen and take me for a spin. Let's rip the streets.' Ok jokes apart the car looks like a thirsty blue monster waiting to be unleashed. Im rea;lly sorry guys i was there for 2 minutes yet i dint click a snap because at that time i just could'nt help myself from checking this wild baby out. But trust me its really wrth seeing it there (coz there aint any entrance fees)

I had two friends of mine with me in my car who are not that passionate about cars and one of them said,'look its a ferrari' and the other corrected him saying,'no re its a porsche because its blue'. Ok iv written too much so now ul make sure ul go and check it out yourselves.'

Note from Mod : Please take the time to type out your posts in full words as per Team-BHP rules. Avoid the use of SMS language (iv = i've, dint = didn't, etc), and please take the time to re-read your post for typos before submitting.

DB9 GT-R?? As far as i know, that car doesnt exist!!! There is a DBR 9 but that is a track car. What you might have seen is a DB9 or a Vantage or something!!

Haha! Agree with you GTA.

Its funny how active people's imaginations are.. They see an Aston and immediately assume that its the "track version" of it. I mean! That car runs on race fuel and has no A/C!
Atleast one should check online first on what they say and then post here.

Guys, cut the kid a break. He's a newbie. Obviously you know more about cars then he does.
S2 - I love your enthusiasm. It is this enthusiasm that is appreciated on this forum.

Dude S2 is right. It was a Aston Martin Vantage GT2. There were alot of press people. A Few Foreigners were loading it back in the truck at about 1:30. It had stickers all over the car. It was just gorgeous.

It could be true, I heard they invited Karun Chandhok to drive a DBR9 around Marine Drive as a promotion for Gulf Oil/Lubricants. Owned by the Hindujas, either they just figured out they sponsor le mans racers or decided nows the right time to promote their sponsorship in India.

Excellent! Aston Martin V GT2 is a great looking machine. But as Beem3r says, was it driven on Marine Drive?

Never underestimate people. They do desire the cut of truth.

Are you guys sure it was an AM GT2?? That is a track car & if AM was bringing it down for some publicity they would really go to town with it rather than parking it at the Intercontinental.

I don't see any pictures..

I checked this link :

Aston Martin Vantage GT2 Revealed

"No further details have been released yet ahead of its debut in the Le Mans Series at Barcelona on 5th April but we'll keep you posted as soon as the information comes through."

So, if the car hasn't even debut yet, then how is it on road? And if you see the ground clearance , which is clearly meant for race tracks , how did it survive the indian roads?

He never said it was being driven..>he said it was at the Intercontinental..
As Mumbaiya said...They were loading it into a truck which indicates it's not road worthy...sounds like how you'd treat a track car ainnit
