Came across M2 which reportedly caught fire during a test drive in kolkata. Looks like BMW India’s car.

Does anyone know what caused this incident?

From my sources at BMW Kolkata dealership, the guy wasn't too familiar with Manual and kept holding very high revs continuously though it sounds dicey but as of now this is what I have heard

Have any SVJs been crashed recently. Saw a matte green one at the service center in Bangalore today. Most of the car was under a tarp so hard to assess the damage. The car looked be in rough shape, one window had been left open. Looks like the car has been there for a while.

Yes unfortunately the one from Hyderabad had crashed more than an year ago during a drive in Rajasthan. No news or pictures of how it happened, have heard multiple versions but cannot confirm any.

Heard that a yellow Gallardo caught fire in Hyderabad. Any news?

I thought and have seen photos of a Huracan that crashed in Rajasthan during the drive last year. Or was that a different event?

Yes, can confirm it was a pre-LP Series Gallardo.

Yes a red Huracan crashed in Rajasthan as well but that was in the lamborghini drive that happened last year.

Coming to the yellow Gallardo Spyder burning up is a result of Vandalism. The owner of Lamborghini has lot of cases of fraud pending on him and one of the victims tricked the guys friend to bring the car to a secluded place near the airport on the pretext of purchasing it and burnt it up with petrol when the owner of it did not turn up. Yes that is what is being reported by the cops right now.

Newspaper clipping of the same:

Yes, unfortunately the only other Green SVJ of the country crashed today in Bangalore with significant front end damage but can be repaired, the driver (owner) made it out without a scratch. Hit a divider trying to avoid another motorist. The car is being driven real hard these days, the owner must now learn to slow down as these are rare gems that are getting lost in the country one by one.

Does anyone have pictures of the crash which took place today?

Got this in one of the Whatsapp group.

I highly doubt a car with a carbon tub can be salvaged. With damage to any membranes of carbon, it’s impossible to replace it or build it back to factory strength.

This is the second green SVJ to have been wrecked as the Hyderabad one was also crashed in Rajasthan, but not on the annual ‘Giro’ hosted by Lambo but some other drive.

Glad to know the owner is safe however. Human life is more important.

Is this Chiranth Gowda's SVJ?

My two paise , just because you have a turbo charged 8 cylinder thumping mechanical hulk - doesnt mean you have to go Hulk smash all the time , you can go Dr Bruce Banner in day to day life and release the monster in safe environments (read - testing tracks)

last week Friday - late night around 11:30 PM while returning from Airport (BLR) to city , a Porsche 911 or some other variant - just crossed me like i was standing still (I was doing 80 KMPH) so this guy/girl was at least doing 150 and this was the non flyover stretch of road . Bangalore people can verify - in this stretch , random vehicles can come in any time as the highway is connected to the service roads at multiple points , one errant object suddenly in front and the object and the sports car would have been history.
