re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Looks like there is some front end damage to the maserati too. Was not mentioned in the Parx Supercar 2012 show thread.

Im sure the owner has body panels covered in his insurance. Very painful to see though!

It was mentioned that the car had gone and hit the Hummer H1 in front. That piece of information got lost in the melee surrounding the bad driving of the Dzire owner, I guess

What i heard is front end damage was ddue to impact of the Dzire hit. Dzire rear ended Maser and due to the impact Maser went and hit H1

Not Dzire, a Figo rear-ended the Maser and it went and hit the H1.

The pic of the crashed Figo was also posted was posted by cityvic.

Insurance? Its not even registered here. I heard that this was a car due for delivery and had just come out of a container.

I don't think so. This car was covered in either the November or December issue of TG. Had seen this car when I was in Delhi. Besides, it's a LHD, IIRC, so registration would probably be not possible.

I'm pretty sure this was a RHD. At least thats what it looked like when I passed it.

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

If I am not wrong this car belongs to Shryens group and is being used as a TD car, I have spotted it few times on NH-8. They might have send it there to participate in the Parx supercar show to get some customer for this big GT.

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

How will they get it fixed? Use a FIAT facility to put the body parts together? Or the owners residence?

It definitely is a RHD. The picture above also proves it.

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

^^There are numerous Independent workshops here in India which have the required expertise and skill set to carry out such repair jobs on Imported cars. I can think of Patel Auto & EMW here in Delhi.

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

^^ So would Patel Auto and EMW order the parts and do the fitment or would the owner get the parts in from the nearest maserati service centre and drive them to the workshops mentioned by you for repairs?!

From the picture it looks like the left exhaust/muffler may need a replacement too.

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

I believe, the car belongs to Ferrari S.p.A, Asia or Middle East and was brought with the red LHD 458 Italia for demo purposes, just like the Veyron.

Don't think the dealer would import a foreign registered car for customers. Most probably on Carnet.

What happens to the car shall be more clear if someone can shed light into what eventually happened to the LHD LP560 Spyder that Lamborghini brought down and later caught fire at Chennai airport.
