At first, it sounded like one of those "convenient" stories.

However, after looking closely i do believe them.

If they hit a standing camel / camel crossing the road, the hood of the car and the windshield would definitely show damage. All the damage seems to be below the car's waistline in the pictures - confirming that the camel was probably already lying on the road (or perhaps sitting there?) when it was hit.

Hope the S350 managed to keep all occupants safe, without deploying all the airbags! How much and airbag replacemant cost for an S class?? like 8 to 10 lakhs?!
I also see some dent on the drivers door. What would have caused that?
Can cars equipped with radar cruise control not avoid such accidents?

hey,

all the damage you see in that pic is due to the impact with the camel. The brilliant part is, the occupants; owner and his Mrs, both came out scratchless. Fortunately both were wearing seat belts and hence they were held to their seats well.

Ouch, that is sad. Good the occupants are safe!

It is after crashes like these one understands the importance of wearing seat belts and how they can avert small disasters.

^^Not even temporarily registered, insurance claim could be a nuisance in such case.

Any further details available on how this happened?

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Either stupid recklessness, or simply not realising what they are driving.

One day, due to breakdown of the proll's pool Toyota, I had to take the MDs brand-new A6 for a day. Despite having already driven it for nearly 100 miles, I was taken aback, and nearly came to grief, putting my foot down to slot into a gap in the traffic. I nearly rammed the back of the car in front of the gap.

I wasn't even trying to find out what that car, far more powerful than anything I was used to, could do. Imagine a youngster who is trying to find out what a Jag can do. Imagine a youngster who never had any proper driving lessons doing that.

I don't know about this accident; I don't even know who, or what age, the driver was, but

I guess the driver never had proper control in the first place.

Not questioning your description above but the merc is equipped with xenon's and gadgetry and techno wizardry so this leaves me surprised they couldn't see the dead animal on the road. Maybe just a bit of bad luck for the duo. Sad to see the car in such a state but glad the couple was unhurt.

Read this on the Supercars in India | Facebook fan-page.

Heard it crashed when it was overtaking an Esteem!

Anybody got any info about this? Any pics?!

AFAIK, there is no blue Gallardo in Bangalore. There was only two Monterey Blue Gallardos in the country and one of them was repainted in white recently. The other one (MT) is still in the north IIRC.

Something else I heard,

One of the Gallardos participating in yesterday's promotional race for a movie at Buddh International Circuit wrecked. This is not a confirmed news though.

Although the roads in Rajasthan can be a nirvana for who people who love driving or riding, there are a few things that one has always have to keep in mind.

The inner part of the state has narrow lane roads which are mostly undivided. They have a tendency to incline and decline quite frequently and one has to slow down to controllable speeds in order to avoid any last minute corrections. (Which i think has happened in this case)

You will see many dead animals on the road throughout the state of Rajasthan and i do not know one reason why the higher frequency in this state alone.

Manish told me the same thing.

My friend is not very good with cars but he definitely saw some blue sports car on brigade road meeting with a bad accident.
