Re: Accidents in India - PICS

Few days back, saw this Mini cooper on NH4 a few Kilometers after Haveri. May be a result of high speed and speed breakers on the highway which driver might not have noticed in the night.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

The rear of the car in a complete inclined position means the car should be traveling at very high speed. Also looks like it hit a bus shelter. I hope everyone traveling on the car is fine and no pedestrian hurt.

I would really like to laugh, especially at the first picture, but when I see the damage to the car, contemplate that occupants may not have been belted, and think about what might have happened to people in the bus shelter, the smile disappears from my face.

Country's only Lamborghini Murcielago SV LP 670-4 totalled last night near India Gate in Delhi. Apparently, it was doing 200+ and hit a pavement. The rear is badly damaged and the axle is gone is what I hear.

That's really sad. It was up for sale, right? So, was it a prospective buyer or the new owner?

And by now, I guess, the crashed Murcielagos count goes to 4!

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

that is what happens when you have no proper Driving Standards Agency and every body thinks they can drive fast.
its sad but truth is there are no driving standards in India. Everybody thinks they are driving correctly but you can't blame them as they do not know any better and have never been educated in driving rules and regulation.
hope the driver and passenger are ok . Hope the repair bill will be lesson.

200 near India gate? Which stretch have him that much margin to anticipate? Every artery has roads linking to it almost every 100 metres. It is impossible to anticipate from where a white car will come out. Utterly stupid behavior.
They're brilliant roads, and meant to be enjoyed, but you've got to be drunk, or crazy, to try going above 100 here.

Unless you knew the particular individual at the wheel really well, or were present when it happened, I'm not sure it is prudent to assume that the driver was basically an idiot who didn't know how to drive.

No one likes to total their car, no matter how rich!

Hey AK, is the 200 kph number verified or just the educated guess by the media?

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Oh Man!! Thats the Murcielago SV. Really sad to see the car in this shape.

Rare care, from what I know the only one in the country.

I hope it gets back to its original glory soon.

Rachit

Saw this news just now on Youtube. Country's only Murcielago SV in this condition. Very sad to see it this way.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but what is the use of breaking the number plate? This is a rare car and everyone could get it's number.

Regards,
Swapnil

From the looks of it, looks like this will be a FWD car hereon.

the way I had seen that car been driven last time, the driver certainly did not know how to drive. I was a driving instructor and trainer/observer with IAM ( Institute of Advanced Motorist) so have some experience to judge a drivers standard.
Yes ,you are right about that who in particular was driving on the day of the incident so it is wrong of me to assume it was the same driver.
