Another crash at Yamuna Expressway leaves three dead and other two injured, a BMW, over speeding at night seems to be the cause

That level of impact and a second vehicle that's capable of getting away post the accident. Looks to be one of the tractor trailers or unlit trucks that roam at 40kph in the third lane.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Sad to see the India's only S63 AMG Coupe from Kolkata in such a sad state

The driver / passenger / pedestrians are safe. A truck jumped a Red light and crashed head on with the S63 AMG Coupe (standstill).

Supercar & Import Crashes in India

So the car belongs to a friend, and we are grateful that he made it out scratchless out of this terrible accident with no injuries to the passengers in the car or pedestrians outside.

The accident happened early morning today at Victoria. The S63 was at a signal and a truck broke his light and came for a headon from the drivers side at a very high speed later climbing onto the front. The impact caused the car to spin almost 360' too. The truck driver fled the accident spot leaving his truck there thinking he killed the S63's driver. I think my friend is only alive because of Benz's fantastic build quality and the drivers side and front airbags popping out to save him.

It is disheartening to see one of the most beautiful car's in India lost to an accident but again cars will come and go. My friend who got this car had decided on it a year back and had just got his custom order delivered to him after a good 6 months wait as the first customer S63 Coupe of India. We are really thankful that with God's blessing there was no injury of life.

Thank you God and Mercedes Benz for saving my friend.

It is very impressive indeed

The crumple zones have certainly done their job, and the cabin seems whole, but was the steering wheel pushed towards him, threatening his chest? Or did Merc safety look after that possibility too?

Glad to know that your friend is safe. I'm sure he has even more respect for Mercedes now.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Absolutely gutted to see the car in that shape. I have just been drooling over the photos of this car and in a matter of few days this has happened. Relieved to know the driver is fine.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Sad to see her in such a bad shape but hey, cars come & go in life. What matters most is that the driver is safe in what was so obviously a brutal impact. Seeing how the front end is all mangled up, I shudder to think what would have happened to the occupants if it was a lesser car.

The Mercedes did its job .

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Is there only one S63 in India till date? I could have sworn I was driving behind one about 20 days back. Or was it this same car in gurgaon at that point?

This will be India's only customer S63 AMG. There's a S63 AMG in Pune, often spotted in and around the Mercedes Benz Chakan plant. Its their company owned car. Most probably its the car that was used for the launch events.

I saw it at 4no Bridge last week. It had a black roof IIRC.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Sad to see such a beautiful car in this state. But it did its job really really well. Cars can be replaced. Human life can not be. Glad that no one was injured.

Yes that is the company car which is used for media reviews. What a stunning shade of green it is finished in! It has done 6500 kms already in about a month and tyres are due for replacement now
