Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

I doubt either of those cars would be in Dubai. At least the LP640. This seems to be the same car that had crashed in Mumbai and was then hidden away outside Mumbai and then traced by the DRI. The contact number given on the website is an Indian number.

I've quoted only from the ad. The ad says LP640 is in Dubai and can be shipped to anywhere from Dubai. But pics seems to be from India.

Also its clearly mentioned SV is in Delhi.

Brand new Audi Q7 involved in Hit-n-run case, in which unfortunately an Air Force officer was killed. The driver of the car is suspected to be Ambia Sohrab, son of the former RJD MLA Mohd. Sohrab, who, recently shifted to the Trinamool Congress.

An Air Force officer was killed during the Republic Day rehearsal parade here Wednesday after a speeding car smashed through the barricades and knocked him down. The car, a brand new Audi, was allegedly being driven by the son of former RJD MLA and current TMC leader Mohammed Sohrab, police said.

As per the police, the car tore through three guard rails on Red Road, which was closed for traffic, at about 6.30 am and ran over 21-year-old Corporal Abhimanyu Gaud, the Air Force drill instructor supervising the parade. “The car dragged Gaud more than 20 metres. It sped away but came to a halt after hitting another barricade near the south gate of Fort William,” an officer said, adding the driver left the car and fled.

Seems like it's the new Huracan that was delivered just a month or two back.

Nothing wrong with the Supercars as such, it's just a case of few morons thinking that the moment one is behind the steering wheel of one, he gets transformed into 'Superman'. Maybe these guys don't get proper training on how to handle such powerful cars.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

What is it with these morons with more money than brains. These cars need to be treated with respect or else they'll cause a lot of pain to everyone around them as seen in the above images.

Maybe like super bike licenses issued in many countries, there should be a super car license as well. These idiots need to learn how to drive first before they are given charge of 500+ rampaging horses.

Couple more pics of this
The incident has 4 people critical and the driver, oh-so-surprisingly, fleed the spot
Clearly, money doesn't buy you common sense

Some more pictures of the SLS AMG crash from Mumbai. From the pictures, it looks like Mhd. Ali road in Mumbai. The place is so congested that one wouldn't want to take their hatchbacks there forget taking a supercar!
The accident involved a Hyundai Verna too which can be seen in one of the pictures.

More details about what really happened-

It was midnight of 22nd January, when Amin decided to take his friend's Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster for a joyride. Barely 200 meters into the ride, he lost control of the car and rammed into two parked vehicles near Colombo Junction at Crawford Market. Like if that wasn't bad, he ended up running over four people sleeping on the pavement, a child included.

The incident took place at 12:15 AM last night and the victims were identified as Monira Shaikh, 25, Alisha Shaikh, 41, Rashida Shaikh, 25 and Rahul Shaikh, 4. The injured were rushed to JJ Hospital, while Amin fled the scene. He says he did so because he feared getting beaten up by the massive crowd that had gathered around the scene of the accident. He was arrested 45 minutes later by a team of officials near JJ Hospital.

"Following the incident, Shaikh, a labour contractor, escaped from the spot and was arrested by a team of officials, including inspectors Mahesh Mugutrao and A Godse, from near JJ Hospital after 45 minutes. He feared getting thrashed after a crowd of around 1,500 people gathered at the spot and fled," Sunil Kavlekar, senior inspector of Pydhonie Police station, said.

As a sigh of relief, three of the injured were discharged after receiving primary treatment. Monira has suffered a fractured shoulder and will be kept under observation for a while. Officials ran medical tests on Amin, revealing he was not drunk at the time of the accident. He was placed under arrest at 4 AM and will be produced in the court Friday morning. Amin has been charged with rash & negligent driving causing grievous injuries under various sections of Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act while further probe is underway.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

"Losing control of the car/bike" is what has been feared and highlighted numerous times on T-BHP. Imagine if a person who is sober can't control the powerful cars, how can a person DUI of alcohol do so.

So while it may sound kiddish but we need to pray at the same time while admiring seeing a supercar on our roads.

Why does it sound as if the real culprit ran away and a dummy came across to claim the accident, 45 minutes later.

It is only something that can't be seen or foreseen that causes loosing control. And example would be an invisible oil film on the road. Otherwise, loosing control really means couldn't control.

This applies to all vehicles, from the puniest to the mightiest.
