re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Sorry for off-topic but what kind of numberplate is the Maserati sporting? Is it a real registration number or photoshopped to protect the owner's identity?

The Maser is on Carnet, its on foreign registration. Can't make out from the plates as to which country it is registered though.

+1
I was also searching in different forums and sites for that info. Actually, there's very little info about the after effects of crashed supercars; Anyone know the current condition of the crashed LP640?

The Maser is not here on Carnet. The Italian temp plates are on all Masers and Ferrari's when they come into the country, seen it on 4 different cars including the LHD 458. This car was meant to be sold and would then get Indian temp plates and registration.

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Its a pity, seems like the driver side door had to be removed to get the driver out.

May his soul R.I.P and may the cylist recover.

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Very sorry to hear, May his soul rest in peace.
Shocking thing about this incident was that even after the airbags were deployed the driver couldn't make it out alive, I am no expert in cars and their safety equipment but at BRT(where this happened) the driver couldn't have been above 150KMPH and going by that speed, the safety equipment of the Lamborgini should have been able to save his life.

There is a separate thread active for it already and has generated enough posts. Thought should share so that discussion on that crash does not continue here.

Not brand new! It was around for around 6-7 months before the crash! Im sure it had insurance as he wouldn't have got the temp reg without it!

re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Just got back from a trip to Jaselmer and Jodhpur. There was an elderly couple staying in our hotel who had driven down in their S350. One evening they decided to leave the drive at hotel and take the car out for a spin and grab some dinner. Unfortunately in the dark, they couldnt see a dead camel and their car crashed into the same and suffered some damage. Also, they had a hard time convincing the locals that they didnt kill that camel and it was already dead.

Hotel staff was very helpful and arranged all local help; cops, transport etc and assured them that they need not worry as a medical examination on the camel would easily determine when it actually died and they shouldnt have to worry about any troubles from the villagers.

Managed to get some pics of the same the next while we were leaving from Jaselmer.
