Watch: BJP MLA gifts wife 5.5 crore Lamborghini, she rams into an auto.

I just saw the video clip of the accident. She missed two women by a second. Else, it would have become a serious issue.

Low speed impact though, the auto moved by three feet by the impact. MLA claimed that his wife has been driving for the past 18 years, including high end imports.

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Most people are busy feeling bad for the car but nobody's thinking about the fact that our MLA's gifting his wife a Huracan in our country

Couldn't help but notice it being called a "saffron" Lamborghini whilst it is actually Arancio Borealis or Orange. BJP much?

What can us peasants say?

Cause of accident? Indian sandals and the tight pedal space in the Huracan? The car seemed to be travelling horizontal to the flow of the traffic?!

I don't think he was in there, but those women walking across sure were lucky!

That's my first thought when i see a strange Gallardo accident. I assume the Huracan foot-well layout is similar.

See my post here. The foot-well is a joke!!

However, in this case, the car just seems to be rolling along - so doesn't seem to be a pedal confusion issue?

This really confused me for a while too. Then i saw an extended video, the car seemed to have come (straight) out of a large gate that was perpendicular to the road.

I think you are right, but that is still the source of his livelihood getting damaged there. Let's hope it is not too much.

Very true.

I've never driven any car like that, and I probably never will, but when I see supercar acceleration figures, I think, "Hey, how long have I got to discover I pressed the accelerator too far."

Tempting... but scary!

Quite possible! It is quite a busy junction though. She seemed to have come with consistent speed from the exit of the gate. Lucky she didnt get T-boned. Although, I seriously doubt she would be wearing shoes (better yet - even flat soles).

Apparently no case is being registered because the minister compensated the auto driver well for repairs to his rickshaw. He must've tried really hard to keep it all quiet but our media is faster than the speed of light.

Thanks!

No doubt he can afford it, but being able to afford doing the decent thing and actually doing it are two different things. I'm glad to know the auto driver was properly compensated.

This was just sad on so many different levels! Brand new car, starting a new life and boom, dead. Hate what fate has in store, but at times, we drive our fate as well. Damn he was as old as me!

My added bold. I don't want to damn the guy with assumptions: I don't think we know the cause of the accident, and he could be the innocent victim of somebody else's wrong doing, but he was on his way home from a party and could have been very much responsible for his own fate.

Even if not, I am reminded of advice given to me many many years ago, when I was a novice, learning the dos and don'ts, in a country where DUI laws had become strict, but social acceptance was yet to catch up. My friend told me, "You might be genuinely fine to drive, but what if the accident is the other guy's fault: you're going to get tested too, and if you fail that [alcohol] test, you're going to prosecuted."

Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

Had read this news on social media day before. While coming to work today morning, spotted the very same car parked in a really sad state outside Nizamuddin Police Station. A sad start to the day! RIP departed soul.
