Re: Supercar & Import Crashes in India

The Lamborghini Murcielago SV LP670-4 SV seems to be in Poland now, where the new owner has repaired the car

This is me when I saw this car in person back in 2012 at Lamborghini Delhi.

The car pictured in disrepair in this post is NOT the LP670-4 SV that was wrecked in Delhi and then shipped to Dubai & later to Poland. The white car pictured in this post is most likely the ex Bachchan car which was sold by them to Delhi and later met with the same fate as the SV - that is, it was wrecked.

Delhi really doesn’t like it’s Lambo’s, because AFAIK the SV, this white Murcielago, the Balboni edition Gallardo and 2-3 more Lambo’s have bitten the dust in the capital.

Looks like this crash happened in February.

Quote:
Jalandhar: Two persons had a miraculous escape as a new Lamborghini worth around Rs4 crore, being test driven by one of them, was damaged after ramming into a stationary vehicle. The car was being test driven on 66 feet road near here. While there are reports that AGI Infra Ltd owner Sukhdev’s manager had sought to test drive the Italian car before gifting it to his son and went on to check 300 km per hour speed when the accident took place, Sukhdev denied the reports. “The reality is that I had no intention to buy the car. I and few other people had shown interest in the test drive. The company sent the car only for test. It was in fact the company’s driver who was controlling the steering when the accident happened,” he said. The car reportedly bumped into Sukhdev’s Fortuner, which too partially got damaged.

Waste disposal is a serious issue and needs to be addressed. Here, someone even threw away an Audi TT!

That is one of the funniest posts I have ever seen here.

Seriously, though, the car looks new. I guess its driver might not have been ready for it. Sad.

Looks like an accident case. Owner may have collected total loss insurance claim.

Intellect may sometimes be effectively faked, but driving skill is another thing, and wrecked exotics don't leave much wiggle room.

Evident in all this is the reality of zero correlation between financial power and the ability to drive.

It may even be inversely proportional for whatever reasons. Useful as a pride-deflator / reality check, I suppose.

Re: that Lambo: "the company agent was in control of the steering wheel when the crash occurred" (rough quote). I could just imagine... Note there was no mention of who was actually in the driver's seat!!! Having gone out of control at whatever speed, I'd guess the agent reached over in a failed attempt to regain it and thereby save his precious goods.

Whatever, a sad waste.

The damage (on the Rubicon pictured) appears so light here really... One thing I have yet to see in India which has been common even in smaller collision-repair shops abroad is what's called a "frame bench" or "frame rack" or "rack" for short. Very easy with one of those to get most things back in line. I myself have had this work done once on a full-frame car where the chassis had first cracked and then buckled and pushed the right front wheel back at least 2-3 inches. Typically they charged by the hour for time spent on the "rack" as a sub-service of typical collision shops.

Here in India there must be some of these somewhere, but juggad also can go a long way in the small towns. Amazing some of the horrific "total loss" stuff I've seen managed up here in a few weeks' time with a skilled "denter" using all kinds of screw-jacks etc...

-Eric

There must be a few such devices

Wow that’s some proper heavy damage to at least 3 corners of the car from the photos. Hope the drive and any passenger are okay. Car looks to be a write off.
