Spotted S55 ///AMGs - (Real ones & convincing AMG kits)

The pre 2003 S55AMG had the normally aspirated 24V SOHC 5439cc V8 with about 355 Bhp / 391lbs/ft. It had 2 oval pipes and the flat thick 5 spoke AMG alloys (18"). Brakes were 345mm front and 315mm rear
The post 2003 S55AMG had the supercharged (kompressor) 24V SOHC 5439cc V8 with about 493Bhp / 516lbs/ft. It had 4 oval pipes and the newer open spoke design AMG alloys (18" but narrower tires). Brakes here upgraded to 360mm front and 330mm rear

Exhaust TIPS - 2 as opposed to 4 (2 on each side)

My bet is this a rebadged S350....Rs. 200,000 for the rims + about Rs. 100 - Rs. 5000 on the AMG livery...

I am guessing this is one of those toyota owners that rebadge their cars to pass as a lexus...(and evade import duties when its the other way round)

However, I believe that many Merc owners remove external livery to evade import duties...(pass an S500 as a S350 and so on...I can bet on it as someone i know admits to have done this in Bombay...) this is in total contrast to the Merc in question though....

OH well...The owner tried.....Or might have under gone a real de - tune to cope with our roads...

Finally managed to get a pic of atleast one my my college owners cars i've been talking about....though its not the sl65 amg.....the s55 amg is not that bad lol....

have a lookie....

Its 100% genuine....
4-exhausts tips, V8 Kompressor badges, AMG wheels......and all of that...

darn it doesn't have that much presence as his sl65 but mahn is this car a looker!

The experience was amazing. It was super comfortable. When the guy went, i asked him to rev the car. I could feel the power of that AMG. Silent but with that hint of absolute madness!!!

There is one more S55 AMG, same color. But its MH 01. One will spot it everyday at Breach Candy.

Cyrus: The car is not an AMG. It is an S 350, 2005. Its got a complete AMG Bodykit though. I guess the driver didnt pop the hood! I know the owner, as he has bought a couple of cars from us.

CLS is right!! I do not see any slit having V8 Kompressor on the side fenders, or is there one?
The other thing is that the Speedometer of AMGs have this blue circle inside it. This doesnt.

It is definitely not an S55. The easiest way would be that this is a facelifted S and the facelifted S55 had quad exhausts and not dual exhausts. Even the interior doesn't show any sign of it being an AMG

Nice pics, I'm not a big fan of that color though. Would look killer in black with gray/black interiors, not a fan of beige either, more of a lady color. S55 or not, always a nice feeling being up close with a Benz
