It is not Patch work Ajmat but a complete rebuild from the center box to the rear box. The original exhaust from the center box has rusted and literaly has holes in it and can be broken by hand. The manifold in my opinoun is ok but Automech would know better. They have the pipe bending machines and know what they are doing, so i am not worried. When they cut open the current boxes they would be able to know the design used and can replicate them. I want a little rumble to the car so the rear box shall not be to original specs. When i go to Dubai next i shall pick up an AMG or original Exhaust for the car.

Ajmat the important thing here is durability in addition to being accurate about the architecture of the system/box! There's comes closest to factory whereby there is no premature rust and stuff falling out so the spot/joint welding intergrity is important and is an art more so in our Indian weather hope this sheds more light

@V12 : What is the progress so far ? Any new updates ?

Today I saw a pristine black W140 S600 in Bangalore ( near Koramangala BDA complex ), the driver told me that it belongs to the well-known car collector and periodically specialists from UK are flown-in for repairs.

I am not V12 buddy, I am Speedy. A few parts are awaited, which hopefully should be delivered by tom at the latest and the car would be on the streets by the first week of january.

The Black S600 you talk off is owned by someone know. He does not fly anyone down but the car goes to the Mercedes workshop for major work and minor stuff is done at his on place. It would cost him alot just to have the guys flown in forget the parts and other things.

You must have seen a W140 S600, that has been seen before too. The W126 only came upto the 560 SEL and 560 SEC and not a S600 V12 brother. Do let me know, Thank you .

The side mirrors of the car just arrived this afternoon. Now the Bumper goes in for repair and touchup and the mirrors will go in for painting and then be fitted on the car.

The mirrors look maroon, or is it some maroon film for protection.

The car registration number is 60 and was spotted by President at Bandh. The car resides in the Juhu area and belongs to my fathers friend. He has a site at the colaba area and that is why the car is seen there.

Yes they are in maroon and would be repainted to the car colour.

I just told the person to send a set of side mirrors for the W140, so if they were multicoloured or in anyother colour did not matter to me. I wanted the part and am not concerned with the colour it is in. They can be painted buddy .

Even if they happened to be blue mirrors, it wouldn't make much of a difference! You see, after a small dent or gash on the body of a car, if you repaint that part of the car after repair, it will, somehow never look even with the rest of the car's paint! Of course that depends on the work shop as well.

So even if Abhishek had acquired blue mirrors of the same shade, there would've been a slight difference in the shade and I presume he would've got it re-painted anyway

You should not pay the person till you are satisfied with the work. The part should not look repainted otherwise there is no meaning in getting the part painted.
