My Porsche 987 Cayman S Gen II

Hello my fellow bhpians.
I don't know whether my buying a car deserves a thread or not but by sheer happiness and a feeling of being in this family gave a thought of creating this thread.

I have bought myself the Porsche 987 CS Gen II aka the Cayman S. And i am ecstatic!
Its India's first 2010 Cayman S! The other one is white which is coming with mine and would be delivered soon.

Now you people have one question for sure - Why cayman S and not a 911?
Here's the answer-
The best thing about cayman s is, its one of the best handling sports cars, and if you people do a bit of research, you'll find out. Thats the reason i made the decision to buy a cayman s and not a carrera. It's a mid-engine beast. Its so much fun to drive.

There had been changes from 2009 version which pumps out 320 hp (25hp more then the previous one) and a DFI installed and a face lift, (Headlights resembelence to Carrera GT) and new shaped tail-lamps.
Performance is same as the 911 carrera base model.
But Top speed - 172Mph = 275Kph.

Here's what pushed me towards the Cayman S:
1. very easy to drive fast
2. with mods as fast as 911 turbo.
3. handles like a go-kart, heavier steering, more steering feedback, sharper handling
4. more confidence inspiring at high speed

The Cayman S is absolutely sublime to drive, but a 911 will always be more prestigious than a Cayman. But i didn't bother about snob value, so i bought what my heart told me to.

I am getting the delivery this Tuesday. So i'll be back with photographs and videos.

Regards.

Excellent choice Dante! Looks like you've been a Cayman fan all along!
Yes,it indeed is the world's best handling cars. The only thing I don't quite like is the slightly awkward looking profile. But its a Porsche after all!

Drive safe.Waiting for the pics!

Here is something more important you should know. Threads of this kind, should have pics of the car in question. Else the mods will infract you. Honest; it is there is in the terms and conditions, to which you clicked "yes, I accept" while signing up for the forum.

That was only a joke.

But do post pics of the car.

Edit:- I will be happy to lend you my camera, in return for a TD.

wow! Congratulations! The Cayman S is a brilliant car and is easy to drive too. The 2010 model also looks better. You seem to be a Porsche fan but didn't you look at other options like the M3?
Eagerly waiting for the pics!

Congratulations Dante, an excelent choice made . The Cayman S is a wonderful car to drive and the handleing is as good or better than any bigger sports cars, plenty of mods available for it. One of my favourites and a car i would prefer to own from the porsche stable. The Cayman i would call a sports car worth the money spent.
Could we have more details as to the colour both external and interiors with the options chosen etc?.

If its tough to wait then search for Dante's posts at other threads he has already mentioned part of his car spec.
