Honda VTR1000 & Ducati 916

First of all,
I am not very knowledgable about big bikes, but I still love them and I just couldnt miss this oppurtunity to have a peek at this Honda that was in the local bike modification shop. There also was a Ducati 916 but that was almost inaccesible. In fact there was very little room to move around so the pics arent the best.
First time I've sat on a big bike, and then he started it up and revved her to the skies!!! 10000 rpm!!!! And what a brilliant noise this bike made!!! Drowned out all conversation!! I simply loved the digital display.
I've got a nice long video of the bike doing its warm-up and revving sequence, when you can actually see sparks coming out of the exhaust!!!! But its very big, and Ive nearly used up all my internet for the month, so Ill try and load it up later!!

Till then, enjoy the pics!!!

Thats me!!!!

Now for the Ducati:

Hope you liked the pics.

Cheers,
Islero

Nice pix and a nice bike. But it dosen't seem to have such good looks like the R1 or the CBR 954. Well, performance might be real good, but the looks are completely off.

holy crap Islero! You just answered a question that had been lingering on my mind for ages...i.e. is there an RC51 in India!

That's a Honda RC51 / SP1 (Depends on which part of the world you live in) you captured there. The bike built to take on the Ducati 996 in the WSBK Championship. Ironically the duke was at the same place!

Great stuff!!

You mean I just sat on something based on a race bike?? Ooooh yeah......

PS: The ducati there was the 916 sadly, not the 996.

That looks like a dealers shed Evo. Go to any dealer and this is the condition of their shop. they polish it up when it comes time to sell.

Dont get wrong impressions looking at the pics man.....this is a top workshop and one of the best tuning outfits in Chennai. The bikes are kept in good condition, this one had just arrived a day ago and will be given a wash and be kept properly.

Hey Rtech, i guess there is a VTR-SP1 in Mumbai too. There are also a couple of VTR1000 Firestorms too.

Also it could be that the 916 is from Mumbai. Remember BSM featuring one in their issues.

Really! SP1 in Mumbai too? Never seen it though. Seen the red & yellow firestrom quite often, but never the SP.

Absolutely nothing, I meant it was sad I didnt get to see the real intended rival of the VTR1000.
The 916 is one helluva bike, nothing sad about it!!!!
