Not to forget the now famous KLT 666 Landmaster from Lucifer that is being currently 'souped up' for its next appearance in the sequel, Emburaan.

Is your friend's dad director Ranjith? I've heard/read somewhere that the Zen originally belonged to director Ranjith. The details check out from the previous owner information in Kerala MVD website. According to wiki, director Ranjith's last name is Balakrishnan and he is from Balussery, Kozhikode.

The car in Drishyam bears a different registration plate. It's hard to believe that Antony Perumbavoor will dump such a popular car in a pond. After all, it might have as many as cameos as himself .

IIRC, this particular Zen has appeared in 9 movies. Does it make it the most 'cameod' vehicle in malayalam movie industry? I kind of wish that it gets a starring role to mark the 10th appearance a bit more special. All the screenshots are from YouTube. Mods, please remove the post if it violates any forum policy.

That's great to know. Looks like the duo might have more in their collection. Being a Mohanlal fan I've learned that he is not very keen on automobiles. He prefers back seat comfort.

So undoubtedly it's Antony who has been bitten by the bug. If anyone know more about his collection please share it here. I'm sure it'll be interesting. Thank you.

That's a new information. Thanks for sharing.

Antony seems to have a fairly good collection for himself.

That car belonged to actor Nandhu, and was then sold to Prithviraj. In this video, Nandhu talks about it (watch from 3:00). He is pictured here with the car, sporting its original number plate.

I believe the car has already made its 10th appearance on screen and that's in the movie Drishyam.

They have used a different regn plate because of its relevance in the movie. There are scenes in the movie where they mention the vehicle number during a police investigation to find the missing Zen. Iirc it had to be a 07 (Ernakulam) regn since the owner of the car hailed from that place in the movie. Also if you check vaahan website you can see the registration of the Zen in the movie 'KL07AA1734' is actually of a Kinetic scooter.

So since Drishyam was Antony's production and the car had a pretty good screen time, I don't think he would use another car in it. The one that's dumped in the pond would be a dummy obviously.

Re: South Indian Movie stars and their cars

Antony Perumbavoor used to have a silver-grey Scorpio too from the initial batch that was used in many movies including Mambazhakkalam and Kochi Rajavu.

The complete actor's garage now includes :

• 2010 Mercedes Benz S Class W221
• 2012 Toyota Innova
• 2014 Mercedes Benz GL350
• 2015 Mercedes Benz A Class
• 2017 Toyota Innova Crysta
• 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser 200
• 2020 Toyota Vellfire

Wow! Joju really seems to have a great passion for cars though most of the vehicles in his garage are pre-owned ones. The Cayenne that you see behind the Mini was earlier owned by actor Dileep who sold it when he took a brand new 7 Series last year.

Also, Joju was the owner of an old-gen CR-V and KL’s first Endy 3.2 in the recent past.

Is that all in his garage. Surprised to see a Mark4 Amby/ Amby Nova there. I'm sure this might be there for some sentimental reasons. Any clue ?

I guess the cars in the first pic you posted belongs to someone else, who's close to the star. I'm sure the Q7 belongs to him. Mohanlal's S350 was with him in Trivandrum for the last few years and was sold last year.

This is not his entire garage. I've heard that he keeps the Mark 4 Amby for sentimental reasons.

Not entirely sure who the Q7 belongs to. The S did belong to the actor - not sure if he still owns it.

I’m quite sure that this is not a recent picture because the W221 S Class seen there was being used by his own staff in Trivandrum since 2014 and was sold last year. Q7 belongs to his manager or someone who used to have a Mobilio earlier.

Yes, they are still keeping the Amby in pristine condition due to some sentimental reasons.
