| ![]() ![]() What a way to spend the weekend. It was a high revving Sunday for sure as some of the country's finest super cars ( yes some came from out of Mumbai) came together for the Super Car Show which was hosted by the Super Car Club of India. Its nice to see that they have made this an annual event because you generally dont get to see all exotic machinery at the same place at the same time. From Italian Horses and Bulls, German Monsters to British Beef. You name it , it was there. The turn out was good and the event was better organised than last time with everything going pretty much to schedule. I was out of the house pretty much early in the morning and reached the Vidhan Bhavan at 9 AM. This was my transport to reach the venue ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The LP560 experience was orgasmic to say the least. Early morning Mumbai roads, no traffic is enough to put a wicked grin on the face of someone riding shotgun in a Raging Bull namely me. Met up with V12 and Gordon as soon as I reached there. As i was chilling in the paddock, the cars started rolling in. It was nice to see some new entries this year like the Ferrari 599 and the LP640 which was missed last year. A driver briefing at 10 AM was followed by a revving session. All the cars would revv their engines for the crowd and boy did it send everyone into a frenzy. The drive was flagged off at 11 AM. One by one all the cars made their way onto the Mumbai streets much to the delight of the people on the road waiting to catch a glimpse of these beauties. There was quite a bit of traffic even on a Sunday morning but this year the drive was more fun because it included a blast across the Bandra Worli Sealink and then back to the starting point via the old road. This was what I rode in for the drive. 500 horses and an awesome exhaust note. Whil the Ferraris and Lambos were having problems in traffic, we were most comfortable. I love this even more than the M5. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A small prize distribution took place post drive for the 3 most desirable cars at the event. The winners were: 1. Lamborghini LP640 2. Aston Martin V8 Vantage 3. Ferrari 599 GTB We then proceeded to Dragonfly where a sumptuous lunch was served. Did meet up with a lot of Bhpians speedy, kbk, Dante, spiff, michael_schume,mlcarrera, adityashenoy, revtech, Cyrus apart from V12 & Gordon. It was great catching up with you guys. Overall it was a fun event. I hope to see even more cars next year. Inspite of a good turn out there were still a few cars which were missed. The Shelby GT500 was one of them but I must mention there was one red classic Mustang which was following the convoy. Beautiful car. Well enough of the words. The pictures will now follow: Last edited by Dippy : 31st January 2010 at 22:57. |
